Turkish documents we translate
Turkish civil records come from the Nüfus Müdürlüğü. The document most often requested is the nüfus kayıt örneği, a population registry extract that lists a person together with parents, spouse and children, so it can evidence a birth, a marriage and a family relationship at once. Marriages are also evidenced by the evlenme cüzdanı, the marriage booklet.

Letters that have to survive the translation
Turkish uses ç, ğ, ı, İ, ö, ş and ü, and the dotless ı and the dotted İ are different letters, not styling. Dropping them turns one name into another, which is how a file ends up describing two people. We preserve the spelling as issued and keep it consistent with your passport.
Records written before the 1928 alphabet reform are in Ottoman Turkish, in Arabic script. Tell us in advance if yours is one of those so it goes to a translator who reads them.
