Armenian documents we translate
Armenian civil records — birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates — are issued by the civil status registration offices of the Ministry of Justice. Records issued before 1991 come from the Soviet-era registry and are frequently written in Russian, or bilingually in Armenian and Russian, so a single file often contains both languages. We translate whichever language the entries are in.
We also translate diplomas and university transcripts, police clearance certificates, identity documents and court decisions.
Eastern and Western Armenian spell the same name differently
Armenian is written in its own alphabet, and the two standard varieties transliterate it differently: a name rendered with a b or a d from Eastern Armenian appears with a p or a t from Western Armenian. The person is the same; the spelling on the page is not. Families with documents from both Armenia and the diaspora routinely end up with two versions of a surname.
We follow the spelling on your passport and keep it consistent across every document in the file, noting where an original genuinely disagrees. Armenian-language documents issued in Lebanon, Syria or Iran are translated the same way.
How it works
Upload a photo or a scan of your document, pick the language pair and check out online. You never have to mail originals: a legible copy is all we need.
A professional human translator, never machine translation, translates the document word for word and mirrors the layout of the original. Every certified translation ships with a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy that meets the requirements of USCIS, courts and universities.
Your translation is delivered digitally, usually within 24 hours for documents of one to three pages, and same-day delivery is available. If anything needs adjusting, we revise it.
Certified vs. standard translation
A certified translation is a word-for-word translation accompanied by a signed statement attesting to its accuracy and completeness. It is what official bodies require: USCIS, courts, universities and government agencies. Certified translations are $24.95 per page, where a page is up to 250 words.
A standard translation is for business or personal use where certification is not needed, such as CVs, client intake forms or marketing material, and is billed at $0.10 per word.
Frequently asked questions
My older certificate is in Russian, not Armenian.
That is common for records issued before 1991. We translate Russian and Armenian entries alike, including bilingual forms.
My surname is spelled differently on two documents.
We match the spelling on your passport and flag the discrepancy rather than rewriting one document to agree with the other.
Do you translate Armenian documents issued outside Armenia?
Yes, including records from Armenian communities in Lebanon, Syria and Iran. Tell us if the document also contains Arabic or Persian text.
