Hesap özeti, and the IBAN
A Turkish hesap özeti — account statement — identifies the account by IBAN, which in Turkey is 26 characters beginning TR, alongside a branch and account number.
The statement carries the holder's T.C. Kimlik No, the eleven-digit national identity number, which is the identifier matching the account to the person and to every other Turkish document. We reproduce both.
Lira, and currency accounts
Turks very commonly hold accounts in Turkish lira, US dollars and euro, and given the lira's recent history a household may hold most of its balance in foreign currency or in gold accounts.
A statement states its currency in the header. Turkish numbers use a comma as the decimal separator and a point for thousands, so 1.234,56 TL is one thousand two hundred thirty-four lira. We convert the notation and name the currency.
BSMV, KKDF and the charges
Turkish statements show BSMV — the banking and insurance transactions tax — and on some transactions KKDF, a resource utilisation support fund levy, alongside account maintenance charges.

The bank letter, and the İ problem
Banks issue a bakiye yazısı or account letter on letterhead, stamped and signed, certifying the holder and the balance at a date, which is what consulates usually require alongside statements.
