An alphabet used by no other language
Georgian is written in Mkhedruli, a script of its own with no capital letters and no relationship to Latin or Cyrillic. Nothing about a Georgian document can be guessed at by a reader who does not know it, which is exactly why a complete and literal translation matters more here than on a document a reader can half make out.
Latin spellings of Georgian names vary between documents, and surnames ending in -shvili, -dze, -iani and -ava can be transliterated several ways. We follow the spelling on your passport and keep it identical across the file.
