Georgian marriages are registered through the country's public service agency and its Public Service Halls, which consolidated services once spread across separate offices. Certificates issued before 1991 come from the Soviet ZAGS and are frequently in Russian; both are ordinary and we translate either.

An alphabet with no capital letters
Georgian is written in its own alphabet, unrelated to Latin or Cyrillic, with no upper and lower case — so nothing on the certificate is legible to a US office, and the capitalisation a US form expects does not exist in the source. Any capitalisation in the English is ours, and we say so where it matters.
Georgian surnames carry regional endings — -dze, -shvili, -iani, -ava — and romanise more than one way. We follow the passport and note genuine differences. See our Georgian page.
What USCIS requires
Under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), a foreign-language document must be accompanied by a complete English translation and the translator's certification that it is accurate. Every seal, stamp and marginal note is part of the document, so every one is translated.
