Two scripts, both genuine
Uzbek has been written in Cyrillic and in Latin, and the transition between them is still incomplete. A family file can hold a Soviet-era certificate in Cyrillic, a 2000s document in early Latin orthography and a recent one in the current spelling — all Uzbek, all genuine, none matching the others letter for letter.

Uzbek marriages come from the civil registry that succeeded the Soviet ZAGS, and certificates issued before 1991 remain valid and are frequently in Russian. Both are ordinary — see our Russian page.
A nikah ceremony may also have taken place, and any document from it is a religious record rather than the civil registration. A foreign office will want the civil certificate. See our Uzbek page.
