English to Chinese Translation for School Districts
eVerbary translates school documents from English into Chinese for $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, by professional human translators: notices, newsletters, IEPs, report cards, enrollment forms and handbooks. In fall 2021, Chinese was the home language of about 93,000 English learners in US public schools, 1.9% of the total (NCES). A district gets one account for all its schools, an invoice with its purchase-order number (net 30, W-9 on request) and the same price whether the translation is certified or not.
$24.95/page
Up to 250 words, from English into any of our 60+ languages. Certified or standard, the same price.
24-hour standard
For 1–3 pages; longer files take proportionally longer. As little as 30 minutes on request for regular clients.
Invoice and PO
One district account, a PO number on the invoice, a W-9 on request, net 30 for orders placed on account.
What to know about Chinese for school documents
Chinese needs one decision first: Simplified or Traditional characters. Families from mainland China read Simplified; many from Taiwan and Hong Kong read Traditional. A district serving both sends both, as separate translations. Spoken Mandarin and Cantonese are different, but the written notices are the same standard.
What we check in a Chinese notice
- Simplified or Traditional: tell us which, or ask for both.
- Punctuation: full-width punctuation and no spaces between words; dates follow year-month-day unless you ask otherwise.
- Names: Chinese names put the family name first; we keep the family's order.
What districts translate into Chinese
The documents that go home most often:
- Parent notices and newsletters
- IEP and special education documents
- Enrollment and registration forms
- Report cards and progress reports
- Emergency and urgent notices
- Discipline and attendance letters
- Student handbooks and district policies
Each is the same $24.95 per page. A certified translation and a standard one cost the same, so ask for certification when a letter may be contested.
How a district orders
The district office opens one team account and invites schools and departments as members, with the office as admin. Staff upload the document, choose the language and place the order; a billing cycle set by the admin means they never need a card. Everyone in the team sees every order, so the next school finds the translation that already exists.
Delivery is a PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request. For recurring notices, ask in the order chat to keep the same terminology from one month to the next.

Frequently asked questions
Which should we choose, Simplified or Traditional?
Look at the home language survey and the community you serve: mainland families read Simplified, Taiwanese and many Hong Kong families read Traditional. If unsure, order one notice in both and see which gets the response.
Who translates into Chinese?
A professional human translator who works into Chinese, followed by a second reviewer. Never machine translation. See how we translate.
How much does it cost to translate a school notice from English?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, into Spanish, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, Arabic or any other language we offer. A certified translation and a standard one cost the same. Accounts that translated 20, 50, 100 or more pages in the previous month get 10%, 15%, 20% off.
Can the district be invoiced, and what are the payment terms?
Yes. Orders placed on account go on an invoice that carries your purchase-order number, due 30 days after its date (net 30), payable by card, check or wire transfer. We send a W-9 and complete vendor registration forms. Accounts can also be set to one invoice a week, every two weeks or every month. See invoicing and payment.
Do you also translate from Chinese into English?
Yes. A student's Chinese records, a family's letters and forms are translated into English, certified when needed. See Chinese to English.
How are student records handled?
Stored in the United States and opened only by the staff on the order and the assigned translator, who work under confidentiality terms; deleted on request. FERPA obligations rest with the school and there is no FERPA certification for a vendor to hold, so we do not claim one. See security.
