Kurmanji and Sorani are not one language with two spellings
Kurmanji is the northern variety, spoken in Turkey, Syria, Armenia and northwestern Iraq, and written in a Latin alphabet designed in the 1930s. Sorani, the central variety of Iraqi Kurdistan and western Iran, uses an Arabic-based script and differs in grammar as well as vocabulary.
They are not mutually intelligible in writing and a translator of one is not a translator of the other. Order the variety your document is actually in; if you are not sure, send us a page and we will tell you.
Why the official document is rarely in Kurdish
Kurdish had no official status in Turkey for most of the twentieth century, and Kurdish given names were restricted, so Turkish civil documents are in Turkish and may record a Turkified name rather than the one a family uses. In Syria, a large Kurdish population was left stateless as ajanib or maktumin after the 1962 census and holds either special identity papers or none.
So a Kurmanji file usually needs translation of the surrounding material — letters, party and organisation documents, medical and witness statements — while the certificates themselves are in Turkish or Arabic. Those we translate too. Kurmanji uses ç, ê, î, ş and û, and stripping them changes words.
