Three kinds of marriage, one kind of certificate
Nigeria recognises three forms of marriage: statutory marriage under the Marriage Act, celebrated at a Federal Marriage Registry; customary marriage under the native law and custom of the spouses' community; and Islamic marriage. All three are legally valid in Nigeria.
They do not all produce the same paperwork. A statutory marriage produces a registry certificate that authenticates straightforwardly abroad. A customary or Islamic marriage may be evidenced by a declaration, a court affirmation or community documentation instead. What your case needs is a question for your attorney — what we can tell you is what each document is, and translate it.
Already in English, and what that changes
Nigerian statutory certificates are issued in English, which surprises people who are asked for a certified translation anyway. Some offices require a certified translation or attestation of any foreign document as a matter of policy; many do not. Ask before ordering, because you may need nothing — that is worth more to you than a sale is to us.

What USCIS requires
Under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), a foreign-language document must be accompanied by a complete English translation and the translator's certification that it is accurate. Every seal, stamp and marginal note is part of the document, so every one is translated.

A standard translation is for business or personal use where certification is not needed, such as CVs, client intake forms or marketing material, and is billed at the same $24.95 per page of up to 250 words.
