The baccalauréat, Rhéto and Philo, and the single bac
Haitian secondary documents are in French. The end of secondary school is marked by national exams run by the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP). Under the traditional system the baccalauréat came in two parts: the première partie after the year called Rhéto and the deuxième partie after Philo, the final year. Under the Nouveau Secondaire reform, students sit a single baccalauréat at the end of Nouveau Secondaire IV (NS4).
Someone who took the old two-part bac may hold two exam results; someone who took the single bac holds one. The ministry's results are on a relevé de notes listing the marks by subject, and the diploma is a separate document. The school's own report cards (bulletins) are separate again. Marks and totals are translated as printed, never converted — that is a credential evaluator's work.
No apostille, and what US offices ask for
Haiti is not a party to the Apostille Convention, so Haitian school documents carry no apostille; documents prepared for use abroad may carry legalization stamps from Haitian ministries, and those are translated. Many records are copies or reissues; we translate what you have, and the receiving office decides whether it is enough.
Uses: school placement for teenagers (see school enrollment translations), community college and adult education admission, employers, and evaluation before university — see the Haitian transcript page. Names follow the passport and the birth certificate. See our French page, and the Haitian Creole page for anything written in Creole.
What USCIS requires
Under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), a foreign-language document must be accompanied by a complete English translation and the translator's certification that it is accurate. Every seal, stamp and marginal note is part of the document, so every one is translated.
State agencies set their own rules — see government agencies — and what our certification states is on this page.
How it works
Upload a photo or a scan of your document, pick the language pair and check out online. You never have to mail originals: a legible copy is all we need.
A professional human translator, never machine translation, translates the document word for word and mirrors the layout of the original. Every certified translation ships with a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy that meets the requirements of USCIS, courts and universities.
Your translation is delivered digitally, usually within 24 hours for documents of one to three pages, and same-day delivery is available. If anything needs adjusting, we revise it.
Certified vs. standard translation
A certified translation is a word-for-word translation accompanied by a signed statement attesting to its accuracy and completeness. It is what official bodies require: USCIS, courts, universities and government agencies. Certified translations are $24.95 per page, where a page is up to 250 words.
A standard translation is the same professional human translation without the certificate, for when you only need to understand the content or for internal or informal use. It is billed at the same $24.95 per page of up to 250 words.
Frequently asked questions
I passed Rhéto and Philo. Which documents do I send?
Both exam results if you have them, and the diploma. Each is translated as the separate document it is.
My documents are in French, not Creole.
Haitian school documents usually are. We translate from French; Creole content costs the same.
