Valencia College: Translation Requirements for Documents in Another Language
Valencia College asks for foreign high school and college documents in English or with an English translation, and its international office says the translation can come from any official translation service in your home country or a translation service in Orlando. Valencia College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. A translation is enough for high school records, which Valencia checks itself; foreign college credit also needs a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member, which we do not provide.
Official service
Any official translation service at home or in Orlando may translate.
No evaluation for high school
Valencia matches your diploma to its own country table.
NACES for college credit
Course-by-course; UCF-bound students should pick WES or Josef Silny.
Valencia College requirements at a glance
| What Valencia College asks for | |
|---|---|
| Translation | Required for any document not in English. The international pages call it a "certified" translation; the admissions pages and the catalog call it "official" (international, admissions). |
| Who may translate | Any official translation service in your home country, or a local translation service in Orlando; Valencia publishes its own list of Orlando translators (source). |
| High school records | Transcripts, graduation certificate and exam results, in English or translated. No evaluation: Valencia compares them with its country-by-country list of credentials equal to a US high school diploma. |
| College or university records | A course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member agency (source). Documents sent to the agency must carry the issuing school's seal (source). |
| Copies or originals | F-1 applicants may email copies first; the originals must reach an International Student Services office before classes start (FAQ). |
| Residents and US applicants | Foreign high school transcripts in English or with an official English translation; you stay non-degree-seeking, and cannot receive financial aid, until official transcripts are received and evaluated (transcript rules, catalog). |
| Does it accept eVerbary? | Yes. Valencia's international office accepts translations from "any official service" at home or in Orlando (application requirements), so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets it. Policy checked on October 12, 2026. |

High school: a translation, and no evaluation
Most colleges send applicants with a foreign diploma to an evaluation agency. Valencia does not, for secondary school: it publishes a table by country of the diplomas and exam certificates it treats as equal to a US high school diploma (for Argentina, for example, the Bachiller and the Perito Mercantil; for West Africa, the WAEC results), and its staff check your documents against it.
That makes the translation the document Valencia actually reads. It has to show the name of the diploma exactly as issued, so it can be matched with the table, and every subject and mark on the transcript. We keep the original title next to the English one for that reason.
College credit, and the UCF trap
Foreign university work needs a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member before Valencia can award credit, use it for prerequisites, or waive the foreign language requirement (source). Valencia's own transcript page warns that the University of Central Florida accepts evaluations only from World Education Services or Josef Silny & Associates, and its NACES page adds Rollins College. If you plan to continue to UCF through DirectConnect, ordering the evaluation from one of those two avoids paying for a second one later.
Evaluation agencies set their own translation rules. WES, for example, asks for a word-for-word translation from a professional service; see translation for WES.
Where Valencia's pages differ
Valencia's international pages ask for a "certified" English translation; its admissions page, its international catalog section and its country list say "official"; and the general catalog says a foreign secondary record "may require" an official translation. We have not resolved that difference for you. A certified translation from a professional service satisfies all three wordings; if you are unsure, ask International Student Services before you submit.
Documents applicants usually translate
- Secondary school transcripts (all years) and the graduation certificate or diploma
- National exam results, such as WAEC, CXC or a baccalaureate exam
- University transcripts and degree certificates, for the NACES evaluation
- Bank statements and sponsor letters for the financial documents, which Valencia also asks to be translated
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Valencia College
F-1 applicants upload documents in the online international application, at the time of applying or later through the application portal, and then deliver the originals to an International Student Services office before classes start (source, FAQ).
Residents and other US applicants send final official transcripts to Admissions; the translation travels with the transcript it belongs to (source).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them. For Valencia that means we cover the translation of your high school and college records; the course-by-course evaluation of college work comes from a NACES agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions
Who can translate my documents for Valencia College?
Valencia's international office accepts a translation from any official translation service in your home country or a local translation service in Orlando (source). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.
Do I need a credential evaluation for my foreign high school diploma?
Not for Valencia. It checks secondary documents itself against its country list. You need the documents in English or translated.
Which evaluation agency should I use for foreign college credit?
Any NACES member, course-by-course. If you plan to transfer to UCF, Valencia notes that UCF accepts only WES or Josef Silny (source).
Can I email my documents first?
Yes, F-1 applicants can email copies of transcripts and certificates, but the originals must reach an International Student Services office before classes start (source).
Do my bank statements need a translation too?
Yes. Valencia's international application requirements ask for financial documents in English or translated. A bank statement page is translated at the same price per page.
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
