Mexican birth certificate (Spanish to English)
- Every field and every box of the registry form, in the same order and layout, so an officer can match it line by line.
- Names exactly as written, accents removed only as the house style does for US forms, with both surnames kept in place.
- The electronic signature, the electronic seal and the QR code are described in brackets where they appear, and the "marginal notes" box is translated even when it says none.

Brazilian marriage certificate with a divorce annotation (Portuguese to English)
- The averbação of the divorce is translated in full: it is the part an immigration officer is reading, because it proves the marriage ended.
- The property regime, the names each spouse used after marriage and the CPF numbers are reproduced exactly.
- The registrar's attestation, the digital seal and the stamp are described in brackets where they appear.

Colombian high school diploma (Spanish to English)
- The title is translated ("Academic High School Graduate") without claiming a US equivalent: that is a credential evaluator's decision.
- The acta de grado number, folio and diploma registration number are kept exactly, because a school or an evaluator uses them to verify the diploma.
- Signatures and the school seal are described in brackets, in the position they occupy on the original.

Frequently asked questions
What does a certified translation look like?
Two parts: a Certificate of Translation Accuracy, signed on our letterhead, stating that the translation is complete and accurate, and the translation itself, laid out like the original with every stamp, seal and annotation translated or described. The samples on this page are exactly that, with fictitious data.
Is the certificate accepted by USCIS?
Yes. USCIS asks for a complete English translation and the translator's certification of accuracy and competence (8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)); the certificate on page 1 is that certification, and acceptance is guaranteed or your money back.
Do I get a PDF or paper?
A PDF by email, which is what USCIS, the NVC and most schools accept. A printed, signed copy by mail is available from $19.95.
Why are some things in brackets?
Seals, signatures, logos and QR codes cannot be "translated", so they are described where they appear — [Seal: Civil Registry], [Signature] — so the reader knows exactly what is on the original.
