University of Arkansas at Little Rock: Translation Requirements for Documents in Another Language
UA Little Rock asks international first-year applicants for their high school transcripts accompanied by English translations, and its international high school credentials page lets you email a certified or attested translation without limiting who makes it. University of Arkansas at Little Rock accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. Foreign college and university transcripts are different: they go to a NACES evaluation service for a course-by-course report, and graduate applicants need the same kind of evaluation, which we do not provide.
Translation by email
A certified or attested translation can be emailed to Admissions.
Evaluation for scholarships
High school evaluation is what UA Little Rock uses for scholarship review.
China is different
School-certified Chinese and English records; notarized copies refused.
UA Little Rock requirements at a glance
| What UA Little Rock asks for | |
|---|---|
| Translation | Required for records not in English. International Student Services asks for transcripts "accompanied by English translations"; the credentials page asks for a certified or attested translation (ISS, admissions). |
| Who may translate | Not limited on either page (International high school credentials (Admissions)). For China, the school itself must certify the Chinese and English records (see below). |
| High school records | Unofficial transcripts are enough for the decision; bring the original official transcript to the Admissions Office before your first day of class, where staff compare it with the copy you sent (International high school credentials (Admissions)). |
| Foreign college work | A course-by-course evaluation from IEE, WES, SpanTran or another NACES member, or from AACRAO, sent to the Office of Admissions; plus English translations of course descriptions or syllabi for credit (International students (Admissions)). |
| Graduate | A NACES course-by-course evaluation, with the WES Basic report recommended; unevaluated transcripts can be used to apply, but the evaluation is due before you register (Graduate School). |
| Deadlines | Undergraduate: July 15 (fall), November 15 (spring), May 15 (summer) (Admission requirements and deadlines (International Student Services)). Graduate: June 1, October 1, March 1 (International prospects (Graduate School)). |
| Does it accept eVerbary? | Yes. UA Little Rock's international high school credentials page lets you email "a certified or attested translation" of a record not in English and does not say who must make it (high school credentials), so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets it. Policy checked on October 13, 2026. |

High school records: a translation, and an evaluation only if you want scholarships
For a foreign high school diploma, UA Little Rock's credentials page works country by country: it lists the credential it expects (for Argentina, the Título de Bachiller with the Certificados Analíticos for every year of the cycle; for Brazil, the Certificado or Diploma de Ensino Médio and transcript) and asks you to email a certified or attested translation of anything not in English. An unofficial transcript gets you an admission decision; the original official transcript is checked against it when you arrive.
The evaluation enters at the scholarship stage. A freshman who wants to be considered for scholarships has the transcript evaluated, course by course with a GPA, by IEE, WES or another NACES member. Those agencies set their own translation rules, so ask the agency before you order a second translation; the translation you send UA Little Rock is the one Admissions reads for the decision itself.
China: the school certifies, not a notary
The credentials table has one stricter country rule. For China, UA Little Rock wants copies of academic records in Chinese and English certified by the school, in envelopes stamped and sealed by the school, and it states that copies certified by notaries are not acceptable (International high school credentials (Admissions)). If your Chinese school does not issue English records, ask Admissions before ordering a translation; under this rule the English version has to come through the school.
Foreign college credit: evaluation first, translated syllabi second
Transfer students with university work from abroad do not send the transcript to UA Little Rock directly. It goes to an evaluation service such as International Education Evaluations, World Education Services or SpanTran, or any NACES member, and the course-by-course report satisfies the transcript requirement; AACRAO evaluations are accepted too (International students (Admissions)). If you have more than 12 undergraduate credit hours, your secondary records are not required (Academic transcripts (International Student Services)).
The report alone does not apply credit to a degree. For that, the Office of Transfer Student Services needs English translations of your course descriptions or syllabi (International students (Admissions)). Those are long documents, often from a university catalog; plan them with the evaluation, since both are needed before your previous courses count.
Where UA Little Rock's pages differ
The admissions page for international students says all academic coursework must be evaluated course by course for admission. The high school credentials page says unofficial high school transcripts are enough for a decision and ties the evaluation to scholarships, and the International Student Services records page asks first-year applicants only for transcripts with English translations. We have not resolved that difference for you; if you are applying from a foreign high school without scholarship plans, confirm with Admissions whether your file needs an evaluation.
Documents applicants usually translate
- High school transcripts for every year, and the graduation certificate or Bachiller title
- Post-secondary transcripts taken during high school, which first-year applicants also submit
- University course descriptions or syllabi, for transfer credit after the evaluation
- Bank statements and sponsor letters for the Immigration Verification Form
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to UA Little Rock
First-year: email the certified or attested translation to the Office of Admissions with your unofficial transcript, as the credentials page directs, then bring the original official transcript to the Admissions Office before classes.
Transfer: send the original records to your evaluation service, and the translated course descriptions to the Office of Transfer Student Services (International students (Admissions)). Graduate: upload the transcripts with the application and have the NACES evaluation submitted to the Graduate School before you register (International prospects (Graduate School)).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them. For UA Little Rock that means we translate your high school records and your course descriptions; the course-by-course evaluation of college work, and the Graduate School's articulation, come from a NACES agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions
Who can translate my high school transcript for UA Little Rock?
The credentials page asks for a certified or attested translation and does not name who must make it (International high school credentials (Admissions)). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.
Do I need a credential evaluation as an international freshman?
The credentials page ties it to scholarships: Admissions needs a course-by-course evaluation with GPA to consider you for one (International high school credentials (Admissions)). The international admissions page says all coursework must be evaluated (International students (Admissions)); confirm with Admissions if you are not applying for scholarships.
Can I send unofficial copies first?
Yes. Unofficial high school transcripts are acceptable for an admission decision; the original official transcript is due at the Admissions Office before your first day of class (International high school credentials (Admissions)).
I studied at a university abroad. What do I translate?
The transcript goes to a NACES evaluation service, which has its own rules. For credit toward your degree, UA Little Rock also wants English translations of the course descriptions or syllabi (International students (Admissions)).
Which evaluation does the Graduate School want?
A course-by-course articulation from a NACES member; it recommends the WES Basic Course-by-Course report and needs it before you register (International prospects (Graduate School)).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
