How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026
Kennesaw State University asks for official English evaluations of all foreign documents from a NACES or AICE member: document-by-document with GPA for high school, course-by-course with GPA for university work, for undergraduate and graduate admission.
Kennesaw State's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IEE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency with your records; if you use The Evaluation Company, which KSU names as an example, it takes outside translations only from ATA-certified translators, whom eVerbary assigns on request.

Worth knowing about Kennesaw State
NACES or AICE
IEE and The Evaluation Company are KSU's examples.
GPA on the report
KSU reads your GPA from the evaluation.
30 hours for transfers
University work abroad must show 30 semester hours.
Kennesaw State requirements in detail
Translation of academic records
KSU publishes no translator rule; it asks for official English evaluations of all foreign documents (International undergraduate admission).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency you choose; see "What each evaluation agency asks for the translation" below.
Evaluation (undergraduate)
From a NACES or AICE member, for example IEE or The Evaluation Company. High school: document-by-document with GPA; college: course-by-course with GPA (International undergraduate admission).
GPA
For students educated outside the US, the GPA must appear on the evaluation: 2.5 through Summer 2027, 3.0 from Fall 2027 (International undergraduate admission).
Transfer applicants
The course-by-course evaluation must show at least 30 semester hours of university-level equivalency (International undergraduate admission).
Graduate applicants
Course-by-course with GPA from a NACES or AICE member, for all applicants with foreign credentials, domestic or international (International graduate application process).
Official delivery
Undergraduate transcripts come directly from the institution, by mail or to KSUadmit@kennesaw.edu (International undergraduate admission). Graduate evaluations come sealed or electronically from the agency; do not send international transcripts to KSU (International graduate application process).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
IEE, one of KSU's two examples, requires a certified translator and refuses translations by the applicant (IEE). WES asks for an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator (WES).
ECE accepts a complete, literal, word-for-word translation and lets applicants translate their own documents; it also sells an $85 waiver under which it translates for its report only, without a translation you can reuse (ECE).
The Evaluation Company, KSU's other example, requires an outside translator to be certified by the American Translators Association, or sells its own translation (TEC). If you choose TEC, see the ATA section below.
KSU also accepts AICE members; we have not checked each AICE member's translation rule, so read the agency's own page before ordering.
Undergraduate: GPA on the report, and 30 hours for transfers
Kennesaw State reads the GPA of applicants educated abroad from the official evaluation: a high school GPA of 2.5 through Summer 2027 and 3.0 from Fall 2027, with qualifying SAT or ACT scores.
For high school records it asks for a document-by-document evaluation that includes the GPA (International undergraduate admission). The Architecture program sets higher minimums.
Transfer applicants with 30 or more transferable semester hours apply as transfers, and if they studied outside the US their course-by-course evaluation must show university-level equivalency for at least 30 semester hours (International undergraduate admission).
Every course and mark has to be in the translation the agency evaluates, so translate complete transcripts rather than summaries.
Graduate: no transcripts to KSU
For graduate admission, Kennesaw State wants only the evaluation: course-by-course with GPA, sent by the agency in a sealed envelope or electronically, and it asks applicants not to send international transcripts directly to the university (International graduate application process).
The rule covers domestic as well as international applicants with foreign credentials.
International graduate applicants should have all documents in at least one month before the program deadline, so allow for the translation and the agency's processing time.

Uploading the translation to Kennesaw State
The translation goes to the evaluation agency with your records (WES, for example, takes uploads in your WES account: WES: translation requirements).
The agency sends its evaluation to Kennesaw State; undergraduate transcripts come from your school to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or KSUadmit@kennesaw.edu (International undergraduate admission).
Graduate applicants: the agency sends the evaluation sealed or electronically to Graduate Admissions (International graduate application process).
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Kennesaw State, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Kennesaw State that means we translate your transcripts and diplomas; the evaluation from a NACES or AICE member is ordered by you from the agency after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Kennesaw State need a translation of my transcripts?
KSU asks for official English evaluations of foreign documents (International undergraduate admission). The agency needs the translation under its own rules: WES, for example, wants a professional one (WES: translation requirements).
Which agency should I use?
Any NACES or AICE member; KSU names IEE and The Evaluation Company as examples (International undergraduate admission).
What kind of evaluation do I need for high school?
Document-by-document, including GPA (International undergraduate admission).
Should graduate applicants send transcripts to KSU?
No. KSU asks for the evaluation from the agency and says not to send international transcripts directly (International graduate application process).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for Kennesaw State?
Yes, on request, for example if you use The Evaluation Company. Ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for a TEC evaluation for Kennesaw State and needs a translator individually certified by ATA. ATA certifies Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) and Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page) into English; no other languages.
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
