Dallas College: Translation Requirements for Documents in Another Language
The Dallas College catalog requires every foreign credential to be submitted as the original plus a certified English translation, paid for by the student, and it does not say who must make the translation. A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Foreign coursework also needs an official evaluation, described as course-by-course, before any transfer credit is considered; we translate, and the evaluation comes from an evaluator.
Original plus translation
Every foreign credential, in the 2026-2027 catalog.
Student pays both
Translation and evaluation costs are yours.
Under 18 only

Dallas College requirements at a glance
| What Dallas College asks for | |
|---|---|
| Translation | All foreign credentials submitted to Dallas College must include the original plus a certified English translation (catalog). |
| Who may translate | Not stated. The catalog sets no criteria for the translator; the student pays all costs of translation and evaluation (source). |
| Evaluation | An official evaluation, called course-by-course in one paragraph, before transfer credit is considered. Dallas College publishes a partial list of evaluators, and evaluations by individuals or professional services are subject to approval by the Dean of Admissions (source). |
| F-1 high school proof | Only if you are under 18: official proof of US high school equivalency from an acceptable evaluator (F-1 checklist). |
| Where to upload | Each application requirement is uploaded in the applicant portal (admission steps). |
| Transfer credit result | Reported before the end of your first term and shown in eConnect (source). |
| Residents | Open admission, including graduates of unaccredited high schools who are 18 or older; no separate rule for documenting a foreign diploma was found (catalog). |
| Does it accept eVerbary? | Its policy asks for a certified English translation and does not restrict who makes it (catalog); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 12, 2026. |

F-1 applicants: what the checklist actually lists
The F-1 admission checklist asks for official proof of US high school equivalency only from applicants under 18, through an evaluator from Dallas College's list. The catalog's list of international requirements covers English proficiency, finances, the passport, health records and transcripts from US colleges, and does not list foreign high school records for adults (catalog).
That changes once you want credit. The catalog's transfer rule applies to every foreign credential, whatever your visa: the original, a certified English translation, and an official evaluation before credit is considered (source). After that, Dallas College's own transcript evaluators decide how the evaluated courses apply to your degree plan. F-1 students coming from a US college send those transcripts to StudentTranscripts@DallasCollege.edu.
Evaluators, including individuals
Dallas College publishes a long, explicitly partial list of foreign credential evaluators, among them ECE, Josef Silny, SpanTran, IERF, IEE, WES, SDR, Scholaro and others. One listed agency, Education Evaluators International, is marked as offering translation services as well.
Unusually, the catalog leaves room for evaluations "completed by individuals" as well as by professional services, provided the Dean of Admissions reviews and approves them (source). If you plan to use an evaluator who is not on the list, ask Admissions before paying for the report.
Where Dallas College's pages differ
Two paragraphs of the same 2026-2027 catalog page describe the evaluation differently. The paragraph on accepting credit in transfer asks for "an official evaluation" and says the list of acceptable services is in the catalog or at the Office of the Registrar; the paragraph on evaluating foreign credentials asks for "an official course-by-course evaluation" and points to a partial list online. The address the older catalog text gave for that list no longer works; the current list is on the foreign credentials page. We have not resolved the difference; a course-by-course report meets both wordings, and the Registrar can confirm which list applies.
Documents applicants usually translate
- University transcripts (mark sheets) from every year, submitted with the originals for the course-by-course evaluation
- Degree or diploma certificates from a foreign college or university
- Secondary school diploma and transcripts, for F-1 applicants under 18 who need the equivalency evaluation
- Bank statements and sponsor letters, if your financial evidence for the F-1 application is not in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Dallas College
F-1 applicants complete the online application and then upload each requirement in the applicant portal; the I-20 takes about 15 business days once everything is complete (source). Questions go to international@dallascollege.edu.
For transfer credit, the original and its certified translation go to Admissions with the official evaluation, which the student arranges and pays for (catalog).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them. For Dallas College that means we provide the certified English translation; the official evaluation the catalog requires before transfer credit comes from an evaluator on its list or one the Dean of Admissions approves.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

An official course-by-course evaluation, arranged and paid for by you, completed before any transfer credit is considered (source).
Which evaluation companies does Dallas College accept?
It publishes a partial list; evaluations by individuals or professional services are subject to review and approval by the Dean of Admissions (catalog).
I am an F-1 applicant under 18. What extra document do I need?
Official proof of US high school equivalency from an acceptable foreign credential evaluator (source).
