Registration, and the certificate beside it
A Thai marriage is registered at a district office, which produces two documents: the marriage registration (ทะเบียนสมรส, tabian somrot), the register record, and the marriage certificate (ใบสำคัญการสมรส), the certificate issued from it. Offices ask for different ones and they are not interchangeable — the registration carries more detail.

Buddhist Era years, and long names
Thai documents are dated in the Buddhist Era, 543 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar — B.E. 2545 is 2002. The calendar shares the Gregorian months, month lengths and leap rules, so only the year number changes and the day and month carry over unaltered. We show both.
Thai names are long and romanise inconsistently; a passport, a certificate and a US record commonly disagree. We follow the passport and note genuine differences. See our Thai page.
What USCIS requires
Under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), a foreign-language document must be accompanied by a complete English translation and the translator's certification that it is accurate. Every seal, stamp and marginal note is part of the document, so every one is translated.
