Certified signature, or a notarial deed
A Slovak power (plnomocenstvo) may be private, may carry an officially certified signature (úradne osvedčený podpis), or may be a notarial deed, and the act determines which is required.
Land registry filings require certified signatures at minimum. Certification is available at notaries and at matrika offices in municipalities, so a Slovak power may carry a municipal clerk's stamp rather than a notary's. That is official, and we name the office and the entry.
The cadastre, and the property description
Slovak property is identified by cadastral area, list vlastníctva number and parcel number, and the cadastre examines the power against the filing.
A power that identifies the property loosely is refused. We reproduce the cadastral references exactly rather than paraphrasing them.
Powers granted abroad
A power signed in the United States for use in Slovakia is notarised and apostilled, and then needs a translation by a court-appointed translator registered with the Ministry of Justice.

The rodné číslo, and the -ová
Parties are identified by birth number and address, and a company by its IČO with the representation rule from the commercial register.
A woman's surname carries the -ová ending unless she elected otherwise, so spouses' surnames differ. See our Slovak page.
