The 2015 code narrowed the general power
Argentina's Civil and Commercial Code, in force since 2015, requires express enumeration for a substantial list of acts — selling property, accepting an inheritance, granting guarantees, and others — which cannot be conferred by a general clause however broadly worded.
So an Argentine power that says "all acts of administration and disposition" does not authorise those acts. The enumerated list is the operative content and we reproduce it clause by clause rather than summarising.
Escritura pública, and the protocolo
A power for an act requiring a public instrument must itself be an escritura pública before a notary (escribano), who keeps a protocol, and what you hold is a primer testimonio.
We say which on the certification and reproduce the escribano's name, the registry number, the folio and the date.
The consular power, and the legalisation chain
Argentine consulates grant powers as notarial acts, and a power so granted must then be legalised by the Colegio de Escribanos or the ministry before an Argentine registry will act on it.
A power signed before a US notary needs an apostille and, in practice, a sworn translation done in Argentina. Our certified translation serves the US side and we say so.
Revocation, and the identifiers
A power is revoked by a further escritura and notice, and for property acts the revocation is noted where the power was used.
Parties are identified by DNI and by CUIT or CUIL, and civil registration is provincial so supporting documents come from a provincial registry. See our Spanish page.

Frequently asked questions
Does "all acts of disposition" cover a sale?
No. The 2015 code requires express enumeration for selling property and a list of other acts. A general clause does not confer them.

A primer testimonio. The protocol original stays with the escribano.
