A provincial system, not a national one
Argentina registers births through the civil registry of each province and of the City of Buenos Aires, so the layout, the paper and the wording of a birth certificate depend on where it was issued. A family whose members were born in different provinces will hold certificates that look nothing alike, and all of them are equally valid.
Certificates record the acta, tomo and folio that locate the entry in the register, along with the registered person, the parents and the registry office. Those references are reproduced exactly.
The DNI, and reissues
Argentine identity is carried by the DNI number, which appears on identity documents and often on civil records. It is reproduced exactly, digit for digit.
