University of Wyoming: Translation Requirements for Documents in Another Language
The University of Wyoming asks international first-year and transfer applicants for official transcripts in the native language with an official English translation, graduate applicants for certified true copies with English translations, and a certified translation of course documents for transfer credit; its pages do not say who must translate. University of Wyoming accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. UW does not require a credential evaluation, though transcripts may reach it through a NACES-approved agency; we provide the translation, not the evaluation or the official delivery.

UW requirements at a glance
| What UW asks for | |
|---|---|
| Translation (undergraduate) | Documents in the native language with an official English translation, for first-year and transfer applicants (first-year, transfer). |
| Translation (graduate) | Certified true copies of official transcripts, mark sheets or exam results, with English translations (Graduate international admissions). |
| Who may translate | Not stated on any UW page we read. |
| Official delivery | Undergraduate transcripts come from your school or a NACES-approved agency; graduate ones directly from your school or a recognized agency (first-year, graduate). |
| Transfer credit | Course descriptions or syllabi if the school catalog is not online; a certified translation of any not in English; Admissions reviews first, then faculty (Transferring credits (FAQ)). |
| Policy | UW's admission policy for international students makes an English translation of official academic records a basic requirement (Admission policy for international students (PDF)). |
| Deadlines (undergraduate) | Recommended: Fall June 1, Spring Nov. 1, Summer April 1 (First-year international admissions). |
| Wyoming International | Students in this program bring an official English translation of any non-English transcript, before or on arrival (Wyoming International: before you start). |
| Does it accept eVerbary? | Yes. UW's international admission pages ask for "an official English translation" next to the native-language document without saying who must make it (first-year, transfer), and a university policy requires an English translation with all official academic records (policy). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 13, 2026. |

Native language first, translation beside it
UW does not want a translation instead of your record; it wants both. The first-year and transfer pages say documents must be in the native language with an official English translation, and the university's admission policy for international students says an English translation must accompany the official academic records an applicant provides. No UW page names a type of translator.
The official record itself has to come from your school or from a NACES-approved agency (First-year international admissions). If you have already sent your records to a NACES member for another purpose, ask that agency whether it can forward them to UW. UW does not ask for an evaluation report, though, so the translation is the English version its admissions staff read.
Graduate applicants and transfer credit
Graduate applicants send certified true copies of transcripts, mark sheets or exam results, with English translations, directly from the school or a recognized agency (Graduate international admissions). Each graduate program sets its own additional requirements, and UW tells applicants to check with the program before applying.
If you want credit for international college work, UW reviews it course by course. When your school's catalog is not online you must provide course descriptions or syllabi, and if they are not in English a certified translation is required; the Admissions Office does a first review and then sends courses to faculty (Transferring credits (FAQ)). Syllabi are long documents, so this is usually the largest part of a UW translation order.
Wyoming International students
Students starting through Wyoming International submit official transcripts in person at orientation, by mail or through approved electronic services, before or upon arrival; if a transcript is not in English they must bring an official English translation (Wyoming International: before you start). Bring the translation together with the sealed transcript it belongs to.
Documents applicants usually translate
- Secondary school transcripts and graduation certificate
- Mark sheets and national exam results
- University transcripts and degree certificate (graduate and transfer)
- Course descriptions or syllabi, for transfer credit
- Bank statements for proof of financial support
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to UW
Financial documents are scanned and uploaded in the UW application portal and the passport copy is emailed to Admissions; official transcripts arrive from the school or a NACES-approved agency (First-year international admissions). Send the translation with the native-language record it belongs to.
For transfer credit, course descriptions or syllabi and their certified translations go to the Admissions Office for its initial review (Transferring credits (FAQ)).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them. For UW we cover the translation of your records and syllabi; official transcripts must still come from your school or a NACES-approved agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions
Who can translate my documents for the University of Wyoming?
UW asks for an official English translation and does not say who must make it (First-year international admissions). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.
Should I send only the English translation?
No. UW wants the documents in the native language with the English translation (first-year, transfer).
Do I need a credential evaluation for UW?
UW does not ask for an evaluation report; official transcripts may be sent by your school or by a NACES-approved agency (First-year international admissions).
Do my course syllabi need to be translated for transfer credit?
Yes, if your school's catalog is not online and the course descriptions or syllabi are not in English, UW requires a certified translation (Transferring credits (FAQ)).
What do graduate applicants send?
Certified true copies of transcripts, mark sheets or exam results with English translations, sent directly from the school or a recognized agency (Graduate international admissions).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
