University of Central Missouri: Translation Requirements for Documents in Another Language
The University of Central Missouri asks international undergraduate and graduate applicants to upload English-translated transcripts to their student status portal, and its FAQ says transcripts not issued in English go in the original language with an English translation; no page says who must make it. University of Central Missouri accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. UCM evaluates transcripts in-house, so an outside NACES evaluation is optional unless UCM asks for one, and the official transcript itself must come from your school.
Translated before review
Upload English-translated transcripts to the portal before UCM evaluates them.
In-house evaluation
A NACES evaluation is optional, from UCM's list of 11.
Four weeks before classes
Final official transcripts arrive straight from your school.
UCM requirements at a glance
| What UCM asks for | |
|---|---|
| Translation | Required. Undergraduate and graduate applicants submit "English translated" unofficial transcripts for evaluation (admissions process); the FAQ asks for the original language along with an English translation (FAQ). |
| Who may translate | Not stated on any UCM page we read. |
| Evaluation | UCM evaluates in-house. An outside course-by-course evaluation with a calculated GPA is optional to speed things up, or required if UCM cannot evaluate your transcript; only NACES members on UCM's list are accepted (source). |
| Where to upload | The student status portal created when you apply. UCM asks you not to email or mail documents, except official transcripts and provisional certificates or diplomas (FAQ). |
| Official transcripts | Not needed for the admission decision. If admitted, they come directly from the Registrar's Office or Controller of Examinations, electronically to intladmit@ucmo.edu or in a sealed university envelope (source). |
| Timing | Final official transcripts at least four weeks before the semester starts; students still in their last year or semester submit them before or at orientation (source). |
| Bank statement | Must be translated into English (graduate, undergraduate pages). |
| Does it accept eVerbary? | Yes. UCM's international FAQ asks for transcripts "in the original language along with an English translation" and does not restrict who makes it (ISS FAQ); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. The translation is what UCM reads first
UCM's process has two transcript stages. First you upload unofficial transcripts, already in English, to the student status portal, and International Student Services evaluates them in-house. The graduate catalog says the GPA requirement is determined from the English version of the transcript, so for a master's applicant the translation is the document the admission decision is based on. Only after you are admitted does UCM need the official transcript, sent directly by your school at least four weeks before the semester.
For that reason the translation should carry every subject, every mark and the grading scale exactly as printed, without converting anything. UCM computes the GPA itself, or asks an evaluator to.
Evaluation: optional, from a closed list
UCM does not require an outside credential evaluation by default. Its admissions process page lets applicants use one to expedite review, as long as it is a course-by-course evaluation with a calculated GPA from one of eleven NACES members it names, among them World Education Services, SpanTran, Educational Credential Evaluators, Educational Perspectives and Josef Silny & Associates; SpanTran and ECE have custom UCM applications. UCM says it cannot accept evaluations from other evaluators, and if more than one evaluation arrives, the first one received is the one used. Using an evaluator does not guarantee a faster decision.
If UCM cannot evaluate your transcript itself, the FAQ says it will ask for an evaluation from that list. Evaluation agencies set their own translation rules; see translation for WES if you go that way.
Country rules: India, China and three-year degrees
UCM links a country-specific requirements document from its prospective graduate page. For India it accepts three-year bachelor's degrees for master's admission if the institution is UGC-accredited, NAAC-accredited with a grade of A or higher, and you graduated in first class or first division; if the transcript does not show that, your home institution must send a letter, and failing that an outside evaluation is required. It also asks for every individual marksheet plus a provisional certificate or the degree. Three-year degrees from Bangladesh and Nepal are not accepted for master's programs, and the Higher National Diploma (Ghana, Nigeria) and Kenya's Higher Diploma are not treated as bachelor's degrees.
For China, the same document asks for transcripts in Chinese and English, and allows CSSD/CHESICC verification reports sent electronically through Parchment. Undergraduate applicants from India send Class XII board results; from Nigeria, a photocopy of WAEC or NECO results.
Where UCM's pages differ
The admissions process page asks applicants to "request English translated official transcripts" be sent directly to UCM, which reads as if the official transcript should arrive already translated. The ISS FAQ says non-English transcripts are provided in the original language along with an English translation, and that official transcripts come directly from the Registrar or Controller of Examinations. Neither page says who makes the translation, and we have not resolved the difference; if your school cannot issue an English transcript, ask International Student Services (intladmit@ucmo.edu) how it wants the translation to travel with the official copy.
Documents applicants usually translate
- Semester or year marksheets and transcripts from every college or university attended
- The degree certificate or provisional certificate
- Secondary school records: Class XII board results, KCSE, WAEC or NECO results (undergraduate applicants)
- The bank statement for the Declaration of Financial Support
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to UCM
Upload the original-language transcript and the certified translation together in your student status portal; UCM uses them for its initial evaluation (source). Questions go to intladmit@ucmo.edu or 660-543-4092.
Once admitted, ask your school to send the official transcript directly to International Student Services, Ward Edwards 1800, Warrensburg, MO 64093, or electronically to intladmit@ucmo.edu (source).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them. For UCM that means we translate your transcripts, certificates and bank statement; any NACES course-by-course evaluation UCM asks for comes from one of the agencies on its list.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions
Who can translate my transcripts for UCM?
UCM asks for an English translation and does not say who must make it (FAQ). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.
Do I need a WES evaluation for UCM?
Not by default. UCM evaluates transcripts in-house; an evaluation from a NACES member on its list is optional, or required only if UCM cannot evaluate yours (source).
Can I email my documents to UCM?
No. Upload them to your student status page; only official transcripts and provisional certificates or diplomas are sent separately (source).
Does UCM accept a three-year Indian bachelor's degree?
Yes, for master's programs, if the institution is UGC-accredited, NAAC A or higher, and you graduated first class or first division; otherwise a letter from your institution or an outside evaluation is needed (country requirements linked from the prospective graduate page).
When are my official transcripts due?
At least four weeks before the semester starts, sent directly from your school (source).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
