Requirements checked on October 28, 2026 from SXU's public pages (sources).
Saint Xavier University publishes no translation rule of its own: international first-year and transfer applicants need a course-by-course evaluation from ECE or WES, sent by the agency, and graduate applicants send an ECE, WES or Educational Perspectives evaluation instead of their foreign transcripts.
SXU's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and Educational Perspectives, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and give it to the agency with your records; the evaluation itself is something we do not produce.
SXU at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
SXU asks for a course-by-course evaluation from ECE or WES (international admission requirements), and WES accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES translation rules); ECE and, for graduate applicants, Educational Perspectives accept one as well. Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
- The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
- Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
- The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.
Worth knowing about SXU
ECE or WES only
The two agencies named for undergraduates.
Diploma and GPA
The report must show both the equivalence and a GPA.
May 1
Fall deadline for every document; October 1 for spring.
SXU requirements in detail
Translation
SXU states no rule for academic records; they reach it through the evaluation (International admission and application requirements). The agency needs the translation before it can evaluate a document not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency. WES and Educational Perspectives want a professional translator; ECE also accepts other complete, literal translations (see below).
First-year evaluation
Course by course from ECE or WES, showing the equivalent of a US high school diploma and a GPA, sent by the agency; copies sent by students do not count (International admission and application requirements).
Transfer evaluation
Any coursework at colleges outside the US: course by course from ECE or WES, showing the US degree equivalence and GPA (International admission and application requirements).
Graduate
Course by course from ECE, WES or Educational Perspectives for any non-US college; do not send the transcripts themselves (International admission and application requirements).
Bank statement
Written in English by the sponsor's bank or translated into English, with a notarized affidavit of support (International admission and application requirements).
Deadlines
May 1 for fall, October 1 for spring, March 1 for the accelerated BSN (International admission and application requirements).
What ECE, WES and Educational Perspectives ask for the translation
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, such as a certified translation agency or another professional service; it does not accept translations by applicants and does not translate documents itself.
ECE asks for complete, word-for-word translations in the same format as the original and lets applicants prepare them, or translates internally for its report if you buy an $85 Translation Waiver, in which case no translation is delivered to you.
Educational Perspectives, accepted for graduate applicants, takes translations from a reputable agency or a certified professional translator and also sells its own.
A certified translation from eVerbary meets all three rules, and you keep the PDF for later uses such as licensing or a second application.
First-year, transfer and graduate rules at SXU
SXU's requirements differ by applicant (International admission and application requirements). First-year students need a report that shows the equivalent of a US high school diploma and a GPA.
International transfer students, and US transfer students with any coursework abroad, need a report showing the equivalence of a US college degree and GPA.
Graduate applicants, whose international options are the Speech-Language Pathology master's (applied through CSDCAS) and the Special Education MA, may also use Educational Perspectives and are told to send only the evaluation, never the foreign transcripts.
In every case the report must come from the agency: SXU says an evaluation sent by a student does not fulfill the requirement. Order early, since all materials are due by May 1 for fall, October 1 for spring and March 1 for the accelerated BSN.
The financial documents
For the I-20, the sponsor's bank statement must be for a personal checking or savings account and be written in English by the bank or translated into English (International admission and application requirements).
The affidavit of support and the bank statement must be notarized by a third-party notary; a bank stamp does not count.
If your bank issues the statement in another language, a certified translation can be ordered with notarization for $34.90 per order.
Need a certified translation for SXU?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- Secondary school transcripts and diploma, for the ECE or WES evaluation
- University transcripts from every college attended abroad
- Bachelor's degree certificate, for graduate applicants
- Sponsor's bank statement, if not issued in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to SXU
The translation goes to ECE, WES or, for graduate applicants, Educational Perspectives, together with your records; the agency then sends its course-by-course report directly to SXU (International admission and application requirements).
In a WES account, for example, you upload the translation with your documents.
Graduate applicants receive instructions after applying about where each checklist item goes; SXU asks them not to send the foreign transcripts themselves (International admission and application requirements).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For SXU that means we translate your records; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from ECE or WES (graduate: also Educational Perspectives) and sent by the agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Saint Xavier require a certified translation of my transcripts?
SXU itself publishes no translation rule; it requires a course-by-course evaluation from ECE or WES (International admission and application requirements), and the agency sets the translation rule. WES, for example, wants a professional translator (WES).
Which evaluation agencies does SXU accept?
ECE or WES for undergraduates; ECE, WES or Educational Perspectives for graduate programs (International admission and application requirements).
Can I send my own copy of the evaluation?
No. SXU says an evaluation sent by a student does not fulfill the requirement; the agency must send it (International admission and application requirements).
Do graduate applicants send their foreign transcripts too?
No. SXU asks for the evaluation only (International admission and application requirements).
Does my sponsor's bank statement need a translation?
Yes, unless the bank writes it in English (International admission and application requirements).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
