How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026
Nova Southeastern University asks international undergraduate applicants to send every document written in a foreign language with a certified English translation, and to send both the original and the translation; its page does not say who must translate.
Nova Southeastern University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
University work done abroad also needs an evaluation from a NACES member, and graduate rules are set by each college, so check yours before ordering.
NSU at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
NSU's international undergraduate page asks for a certified English translation of every document in a foreign language and does not restrict who makes it (international admissions); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. NSU requirements in detail
Translation
Every document written in a foreign language must come with a certified English translation (International undergraduate admissions).
Who may translate
Not stated on the undergraduate page.
Originals or copies
Original or certified copies of your home-country credentials, plus copies of any leaving or qualifying exam results, such as CXC, O/A-levels, GCSE/IGCSE/BGCSE, WAEC or national board exams (International undergraduate admissions).
University work abroad (transfer)
Evaluation by a NACES member showing degree and course equivalencies and GPA; a preliminary review can be done with unofficial transcripts (International undergraduate admissions).
Graduate: business
NACES evaluation with degree equivalency, GPA and course-by-course credit, based on original and official documents; NSU notes discounts from SpanTran (now The Evaluation Company) and ECE (Huizenga College of Business: graduate admissions).
Graduate: Arts and Sciences
All international transcripts evaluated by WES or a NACES member (Halmos College of Arts and Sciences: graduate admissions).
Graduate: College of Medicine programs
Course-by-course evaluation with GPA; some programs name Josef Silny & Associates, ECE and WES (College of Medicine: graduate admissions).
Application
NSU Application or the Common App, $50 nonrefundable fee for either; with the Common App, your counselor sends the School Report with your official transcripts (International undergraduate admissions).
Undergraduate: the original and the translation, together
NSU's international undergraduate page asks for original or certified copies of your secondary credentials and of any terminating exam, and adds that a document in a foreign language must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
It stresses that both are required: the document in your first language and the English version. A translation sent on its own, without the original-language record, does not complete the file.
The page lists the exams NSU expects to see, among them CXC, O-level and A-level, GCSE, IGCSE and BGCSE, WAEC and national board exams, and says students with BGCSE or CSEC are expected to have at least five passing scores.
Exam certificates in another language need the same certified translation as the transcript. We keep the name of each subject and exam as printed, with the English next to it, so the result can be matched with the original.
University work abroad: a NACES evaluation
If you studied at a university outside the United States, NSU asks for an evaluation from a NACES member that includes degree and course equivalencies and the GPA (International undergraduate admissions).
The evaluation agency has its own translation rules; WES, for example, asks for a word-for-word translation by a professional translator (see translation for WES).
The translation is ordered first and goes to the agency with your records.
For graduate applicants the rule depends on the college.
The H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business wants a NACES evaluation of all undergraduate work, done from original and official documents, and mentions discounts from SpanTran and ECE.
The Halmos College of Arts and Sciences names WES or a NACES member. Several programs on the College of Medicine graduate admissions page name Josef Silny & Associates, ECE and WES and want a course-by-course evaluation with GPA.
Where NSU's pages differ
The M.S. in Global Health section of the College of Medicine graduate admissions page says non-English academic records must be translated and certified for accuracy by a NACES-approved credential evaluator, and in its notes further down says transcripts must be in English or accompanied by a certified English translation.
We have not resolved this for you. If you apply to that program, ask its admissions office whether a certified translation sent with your records to the evaluator is enough.

Documents applicants usually translate
- Secondary school transcripts and the diploma or graduation certificate
- Leaving and qualifying exam results, such as CXC, GCSE/IGCSE, WAEC or national board exams
- University transcripts and degree certificates, for the NACES evaluation
- Bank statements or a bank letter, if they are not in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to NSU
Undergraduates apply through the NSU Application or the Common App; with the Common App, your counselor sends the School Report with your official transcripts (International undergraduate admissions). Send the certified translation together with the original-language document, as NSU asks for both.
For university work abroad, the translation goes to the NACES agency with your records, and the agency sends its report to NSU.
Graduate applicants follow their college's page: business applicants upload supplemental documents to their profile once the application and fee are received (Huizenga College of Business: graduate admissions), and College of Medicine programs say where to send evaluations program by program (College of Medicine: graduate admissions).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For NSU that means we translate your records and exam certificates; the NACES evaluation of university work is ordered by you from the agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Who can translate my documents for NSU?
NSU's undergraduate page asks for a certified English translation and does not limit who makes it (International undergraduate admissions). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets that wording.
Do I send only the translation?
No. NSU asks for the original in your first language and the English translation; both are required (International undergraduate admissions).
Do I need a credential evaluation?
For university work outside the US, yes: a NACES evaluation with degree and course equivalencies and GPA (International undergraduate admissions). For secondary school records, the undergraduate page asks for the credentials and their translation.
Which agency should I use for a graduate program?
It depends on the college: business accepts NACES members and mentions SpanTran and ECE discounts (Huizenga College of Business: graduate admissions); Arts and Sciences names WES or NACES (Halmos College of Arts and Sciences: graduate admissions); several medicine programs name Josef Silny, ECE and WES (College of Medicine: graduate admissions).
Does NSU accept exam results such as WAEC or CXC?
Yes, NSU asks students whose external exams are part of the secondary curriculum to send available results with the application (International undergraduate admissions). If they are not in English, they need a certified translation.
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
