How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
New England College asks international undergraduate applicants for an official secondary school transcript or records with an English translation if necessary, and it does not say who must translate.
New England College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
Graduate applicants can make their transcripts official in two ways, from the school in a sealed envelope or through an evaluation from WES, Educational Perspectives or another NACES member, which we do not provide.
NEC at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
NEC's international admission requirements ask for secondary school records "with English translation if necessary" and do not restrict who translates (international admission); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Graduate: two routes

NEC requirements in detail
Translation (undergraduate)
Official secondary school transcript or records, with English translation if necessary (International student admissions).
Who may translate
Not stated (International student admissions).
Financial documents
Bank statement or letter on official letterhead and in English, dated within 12 months, showing $33,500 after NEC aid (International student admissions).
Graduate transcripts
Official when sent by the school in a sealed envelope, or as an evaluation ordered from WES, Educational Perspectives or any NACES member and sent to NEC (graduate transcripts).
Executive master's
Same two options, with the evaluation sent to internationaladmission@nec.edu (executive programs).
Undergraduate: records and a translation
NEC's international checklist for undergraduates is short: the application, an official secondary school transcript or records with an English translation if necessary, a passport copy and proof of funds (International student admissions).
NEC does not say who must translate, and it does not ask undergraduates for an evaluation. Send every page of the transcript and the leaving certificate, with the grading legend.
The financial documents must already be in English: a bank statement or letter on official letterhead, dated within 12 months of the term start, or sponsor documents with a signed affidavit of support (International student admissions).
If your bank cannot issue one in English, ask NEC whether a certified translation will do before you rely on it.
Graduate: from the school, or through an evaluator
For graduate study NEC accepts two kinds of official transcript.
Your university can send it directly, electronically or in an unopened, sealed envelope; or you order an evaluation from WES, Educational Perspectives or any NACES member and ask the agency to send it to NEC (graduate transcripts).
The executive master's programs use the same two options (executive programs). If you choose the evaluator, the translation goes to the agency first; WES accepts one from a professional translation service.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to NEC
Undergraduates send the records and translation with the application to NEC International Admission in Henniker (International student admissions). Graduate applicants have the school or the evaluation agency send the official transcript to NEC (How to provide an official transcript (PDF)).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For NEC that means we translate your records; an evaluation, if you choose that route for graduate transcripts, is ordered by you from WES, Educational Perspectives or another NACES member.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does New England College require a translation of my transcript?
Yes, if it is not in English (International student admissions). A certified translation from a professional service qualifies.
Do undergraduates need a credential evaluation for NEC?
NEC's undergraduate checklist does not ask for one (International student admissions).
How do graduate applicants send official transcripts?
From the university directly, or through an evaluation from WES, Educational Perspectives or a NACES member (How to provide an official transcript (PDF)).
Can my bank letter be in another language?
NEC asks for it on official letterhead and in English (International student admissions).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
