Heritage University publishes no translation rule of its own: international applicants send official high school and college transcripts together with a foreign credential evaluation, and transfer students with college credits from another country need one too; Heritage suggests World Education Services and the Foundation for International Services.
Heritage's evaluation agencies, such as WES, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You translate first and send the translation to the agency; the evaluation itself comes from the agency, not from us.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
- The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
- Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
- The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

Heritage requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; the agency needs the translation before it can evaluate a record not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the agency. WES requires a professional translator (WES).
Evaluation (international)
Official high school and post-secondary transcripts, provided with a foreign credential evaluation; WES or FIS suggested (International student admissions).
Evaluation (transfer)
Required if you completed college credits in another country (Transfer students).
Funds to show
$43,156 for undergraduates; $52,210 to $109,410 for graduate students, by program (International student admissions).
English
TOEFL iBT 88 undergraduate, 97 graduate (PBT 500 / 550), a US ESL program, or schooling taught in English (International student admissions).
Living
No student housing and no public transportation in the area (International student admissions).
An evaluation for every international transcript
Heritage, in Toppenish with sites at Columbia Basin College in Pasco and in Kennewick, does not read foreign records itself.
International applicants submit official transcripts from high school and from every college attended, and "these documents must be provided with a foreign credential evaluation"; Heritage suggests World Education Services and the Foundation for International Services (international admissions).
The I-20 is issued only after everything has been submitted and evaluated and you are admitted.
Residents and citizens who studied abroad meet the same requirement when they transfer: if you completed college credits in another country, Heritage requires a foreign transcript evaluation, and a high school transcript too unless you finished a Washington Associate of Arts Direct Transfer Agreement degree (transfer students). For school records, see high school diploma translation.
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES asks for an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, such as a certified translation agency; it does not accept translations by applicants, family or friends, and it does not translate documents itself.
The Foundation for International Services does not appear in the sources we read; ask it about its translation rule before ordering.
Either way, the order is the same: translation first, then the evaluation, then the report to Heritage.
Need a certified translation for Heritage?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- High school transcripts and diploma
- College or university transcripts and degree certificates
- Bank statements for the Confirmation of Financial Resources
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Heritage
The translation goes to WES or FIS with your records; the evaluation then reaches Heritage with your official transcripts. Apply at heritage.edu/apply and email the essay or writing sample (graduate: statement of purpose) to admissions@heritage.edu (International student admissions).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Heritage that means we translate your records for the agency; the foreign credential evaluation is ordered by you from WES or FIS after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
