How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Yakima Valley College asks international applicants for official copies of transcripts from high school, national exams, intensive English programs and every college attended, translated into English and sent directly by the issuing institution; it does not say who must translate.
Yakima Valley College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. Credit from international institutions needs a course-by-course evaluation through FIS or WES, which we do not provide.
Yakima Valley at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Yakima Valley's international admissions page asks for transcripts "translated into English" and does not name a translator type (international admissions); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that translation. Policy checked on October 26, 2026.

Yakima Valley requirements in detail
Translation
Official copies of transcripts from high schools, national exams, intensive English programs and all colleges or universities attended, translated into English (Yakima Valley College: international admissions).
Who may translate
Not stated.
Official delivery
The transcripts must be sent directly to YVC by the issuing institution or testing center (Yakima Valley College: international admissions).
Evaluation
Only to transfer credit: a course-by-course evaluation through FIS or WES (Yakima Valley College: international admissions).
Fee and I-20
The I-20 is not sent until every document and the $10 application fee have arrived (Yakima Valley College: international admissions).
Placement
All new students take YVC's English and math placement after arriving (Yakima Valley College: international admissions).
Four kinds of records, all in English
Yakima Valley lists more records than most colleges: transcripts from high school, from national exams, from intensive English-language programs, and from every college or university attended, all translated into English (international admissions).
If your secondary studies ended with a national exam, translate the exam certificate as well as the school transcript; if you studied English at a language institute, its record is on the list too.
The same sentence says these transcripts must be sent directly to YVC by the issuing institution or testing center. The page does not say whether the school must also send the translation.
Ask your school to send the official transcript, and ask the international office how it wants the translation; eVerbary can email the translation directly to the office on request.
Foreign credit: FIS or WES, course by course
Students who want credit for courses at international institutions need a course-by-course evaluation through one of two agencies, Foundation for International Services or World Education Services (Yakima Valley College: international admissions).
WES requires a word-for-word translation by a professional translator or service and does not accept translations by applicants; translate before opening the WES application so the file is complete.

- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Yakima Valley
Official transcripts come to Yakima Valley directly from the issuing school or testing center (Yakima Valley College: international admissions); ask the international office whether the translation may be emailed separately.
For credit, the translation goes to FIS or WES with your records, and the agency sends the evaluation to YVC.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
At Yakima Valley that means the course-by-course evaluation for foreign credit comes from FIS or WES; we translate the transcripts.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Yakima Valley College need my transcripts translated?
Yes: transcripts from high school, national exams, English programs and colleges, translated into English (Yakima Valley College: international admissions). It does not say who must translate.
Which evaluation agencies does Yakima Valley accept?
FIS or WES, for a course-by-course evaluation, and only if you want to transfer credit (Yakima Valley College: international admissions).
Can I send my own copies of the transcripts?
No. YVC asks that transcripts come directly from the issuing institution or testing center (Yakima Valley College: international admissions).
When will I get my I-20?
After every document and the $10 application fee are received (Yakima Valley College: international admissions).
