Hallmark University, in San Antonio, says all foreign credentials must be submitted in their original form with a certified English translation, and requires an official evaluation from a NACES or AICE member before it grants transfer credit; it does not say who must translate.
Hallmark University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. You arrange and pay for the translation and the evaluation yourself; the evaluation is something we do not provide.
Hallmark at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Hallmark's catalog asks for foreign credentials with a certified English translation and does not restrict who makes it (catalog, evaluation of foreign credentials); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 28, 2026.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
- The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
- Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
- The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

Who may translate
Not stated (Hallmark University catalog, Vol. 64 (PDF)).
Evaluation
Mandatory official evaluation of foreign credentials before transfer credit, from companies approved by NACES or AICE; results submitted to the Office of the Registrar (Hallmark University catalog, Vol. 64 (PDF)).
Cost
The applicant organizes the evaluation and pays all costs, including the translation (Hallmark University catalog, Vol. 64 (PDF)).
Undergraduate admission
Official high school diploma or transcript with graduation date, GED, or an equivalent document; interview, entrance assessments and enrollment agreement (Hallmark University catalog, Vol. 64 (PDF)).
English
TOEFL 550 paper or 79 internet, or IELTS 6.5, unless waived (Hallmark University catalog, Vol. 64 (PDF)).
Transfer credit
From institutions accredited by an agency recognized by the USDE or CHEA, compatible with your degree plan (Admissions).
Certified translation first, then a NACES or AICE evaluation
Hallmark's catalog sets out the order for anything earned abroad.
Before transfer credit is granted, a mandatory official evaluation of foreign credentials must be completed; all foreign credentials are submitted in their original form with a certified English translation, and you are responsible for organizing the evaluation and paying for it and for the translation (catalog).
Hallmark accepts evaluations from companies approved by NACES or AICE, and the translated and evaluated documents go to the Office of the Registrar.
Because the evaluator will also need an English version, one certified translation can serve both: it goes to the agency with your originals, and to Hallmark with the evaluation.
Career programs with their own entry steps
Hallmark's colleges of Aeronautics, Business, Nursing and Information Technology admit through an interview with an enrollment advisor, entrance examinations or assessments, a signed enrollment agreement and, at the main campus, a risk assessment questionnaire (catalog).
Undergraduates prove high school completion with an official diploma or transcript showing the graduation date, a GED, or a college record that shows it; if a diploma's validity is in doubt, Hallmark checks with the state agency of the issuing state.
Applicants whose first language is not English may need TOEFL or IELTS scores unless a waiver applies. For school records, see high school diploma translation.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Hallmark
Send your originals and the certified translation to a NACES or AICE agency, then submit the translated and evaluated documents to Hallmark's Office of the Registrar for approval (Hallmark University catalog, Vol. 64 (PDF)).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Hallmark that means we translate your diplomas and transcripts; the NACES or AICE evaluation needed for transfer credit is ordered and paid by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
What kind of translation does Hallmark accept?
A certified English translation accompanying the original credential; Hallmark does not say who must make it (Hallmark University catalog, Vol. 64 (PDF)).
Do I need a credential evaluation?
Yes, before transfer credit is granted, from a NACES or AICE member (Hallmark University catalog, Vol. 64 (PDF)).
Who pays for the translation and evaluation?
What TOEFL score does Hallmark require?
550 paper or 79 internet, or IELTS 6.5, unless waived (Hallmark University catalog, Vol. 64 (PDF)).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
