SUNY FMCC requirements in detail

Translation

Documents must be written in English or be official certified translations (International students).

Who may translate

Not stated.

Originals or copies

All required documents in their original form or as certified copies (International students).

Admission

Completed secondary school or an equivalent qualification; you may apply in your last year; no minimum GPA (International students).

Evaluation

None listed (International students).

Timing

Rolling admission; applications less than 4 to 6 weeks before the term are not guaranteed for that term (International students).

One rule for every document

FMCC states its translation rule once, in the step where you prove your finances, and words it for everything you send: enclose all required documents in their original form or as certified copies, written in English or as official certified translations (International students).

That covers the bank letter and sponsor documents for the $19,900 Certificate of Financial Responsibility as much as your secondary school records.

FMCC also asks that every document bear your name exactly as it appears in your passport and academic records (International students).

A certified translation reproduces names as written in the original; if your passport spells your name differently from your school records, tell us when you order so the translator can note the variant.

Small college, simple admission

FMCC admits to most degree programs anyone who has completed secondary school or its equivalent, with no minimum GPA, and students may apply while in their last year of high school.

Students without a secondary diploma can start in the General Education Certificate program; Nursing and Radiologic Technology have a separate application (International students).

No evaluation agency is named, so the translated high school diploma and transcripts go straight into your FMCC portal.

  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to SUNY FMCC

  • Complete the free application at apply.fmcc.edu and upload the documents with their translations in the portal, then pay the $100 commitment fee and send English test results (International students).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does SUNY FMCC require a certified translation?

Yes. Documents must be in English or be official certified translations (International students).

FMCC does not say (International students). A certified translation from a professional service qualifies.

FMCC lists none, and there is no minimum GPA (International students).

Do my bank documents need a translation too?

Yes, if they are not in English; FMCC's rule covers all required documents (International students).
