How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026
Community College of Philadelphia asks students who need an I-20 to upload an official high school completion certificate, diploma or academic record, and says all documents must be translated into English, bank statements included; it does not say who must translate.
Community College of Philadelphia accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
Credit for college work done abroad needs a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES-approved service, which we do not provide.
CCP at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
CCP's international application checklist says all documents must be translated into English (application checklist) and the FAQ asks for official academic records with English translation (FAQ), without restricting who translates; a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Worth knowing about CCP
Portal only

Notary or magistrate
A stamped photocopy counts as official.
Any currency, in English
Bank statements translated, at least $28,114.
CCP requirements in detail
Translation
All documents must be translated into English; bank statements may be in any currency but must be written or translated into English (International application checklist, version 4.2026 (PDF)).
Who may translate
Not stated.
High school record
An official secondary completion certificate or diploma, or an official academic record showing the completion date; qualifying exam results such as WAEC or GCSE are accepted in place of a diploma for some systems (International application checklist, version 4.2026 (PDF)).
What counts as official
Issued directly by the school, bank or testing agency, or a photocopy with an original stamp by an official such as a notary or magistrate (International application checklist, version 4.2026 (PDF)).
Where to upload
Only through the online application portal, as PDF or JPG; combine transcript and diploma in one PDF; emailed documents cannot be reviewed (International students: how to apply).
Foreign college credit
Deadlines
July 1 for fall and November 1 for spring; review of a complete file takes about two to four weeks, and placement must be satisfied before an I-20 is issued (International application checklist, version 4.2026 (PDF)).
Everything goes through the portal
CCP is strict about the channel.
Application documents are accepted only through the online application portal, as PDF or JPG files; if you have a transcript and a diploma, combine them in one PDF; and documents sent by email cannot be reviewed (International students: how to apply).
An application is complete only when every item, including placement, is in. Uploaded documents become college property.
So the translation is uploaded next to the record it belongs to.
CCP's definition of "official" matters here: a document issued directly by the school, bank or testing agency, or a photocopy with an original stamp by an official such as a notary or magistrate (International application checklist, version 4.2026 (PDF)).
The translation does not replace that official record; it travels with it.
Money, placement and the I-20
The financial rule has its own translation line: a bank statement or bank letter, no older than six months, showing at least $28,114, in any currency, but written or translated into English.
The name on the statement must match the name on the Affidavit of Support, and the full amount is required even if a relative will house you (International application checklist, version 4.2026 (PDF)).
Placement is the other gate: TOEFL, SAT, IELTS or ACT scores, an official US college transcript, or an ACCUPLACER test, before CCP can accept you and issue an I-20 (International application checklist, version 4.2026 (PDF)).
Where CCP's pages differ
The international checklist and the international FAQ send foreign college transcripts to a NACES-approved evaluation service for a course-by-course evaluation, and the checklist marks that step optional.
The catalog says foreign educational credentials must first be evaluated by a recognized evaluation and/or translation service and refers students to the Transfer Credit and Placement Office for a list of agencies.
We have not resolved this; if you want credit, ask that office which agencies it accepts before you order.

- National exam results, such as WAEC or GCSE
- Bank statement or bank letter
- University transcripts, for a course-by-course evaluation
What an eVerbary translation includes

- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to CCP
Create an account, submit the online application, and upload each record with its English translation, as PDF or JPG, in the application portal (International students: how to apply, checklist).
For foreign college credit, the NACES evaluation goes to the Transfer Credit and Placement Evaluation Office (International students FAQs).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For CCP that means we translate your diploma, transcripts and bank documents; the course-by-course evaluation for credit comes from an evaluation service.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Do my documents have to be translated for Community College of Philadelphia?
Yes. All documents must be translated into English, bank statements included (International application checklist, version 4.2026 (PDF)).
Who can translate them?
CCP does not say who must translate (International application checklist, version 4.2026 (PDF)). A certified translation from a professional service meets the requirement.
Can I email my documents to the international office?
No. CCP accepts application documents only through the online portal; emailed documents cannot be reviewed (International students: how to apply).
Is a notarized copy of my diploma official?
CCP counts a photocopy with an original stamp by an official such as a notary or magistrate as official (International application checklist, version 4.2026 (PDF)).
Do I need a credential evaluation to be admitted?
Not for admission: the checklist lists the NACES evaluation as optional. You need a course-by-course evaluation to get credit for college work done abroad (International students FAQs).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
