How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

College of the Sequoias asks F-1 applicants for complete certified English translations of transcripts from every college or university attended, and engineering and science majors also for certified English translations of their high school transcripts; it does not say who must translate.

College of the Sequoias accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. Credit for coursework abroad needs a detailed report from an approved evaluation agency, which we do not produce.

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

The international students page asks for "complete certified English translations" of college and university transcripts without naming a translator (international students); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Translation

Complete certified English translations of transcripts from colleges and universities attended (International students).

High school

Engineering and science majors also submit certified English translations of high school transcripts (International students).

Who may translate

Not stated.

Evaluation

For credit: a detailed equivalency report from an approved agency (AICE or NACES members, AERC, IERF, WES), unless the foreign institution is US regionally accredited (catalog).

Delivery

The agency sends the report directly to Admissions and Records, or you deliver it sealed; opened documents are not accepted (Catalog: academic regulations, international coursework).

Funds

An affidavit of support showing at least $30,311 for the first year; no financial aid for international students (International students).

Fee

$100, by check on a US bank or credit card (International students).

Which transcripts COS asks you to translate

Step 3 of the international application asks for complete certified English translations of transcripts from every college or university you attended.

High school transcripts are added only for engineering and science majors, who must also submit certified English translations of them. "Complete" means every page and every entry, including grading scales and stamps. For the school record, see high school diploma translation.

The rest of the file goes through CCCApply and the COS International Students Application, with an affidavit of support for at least $30,311 for the first year and a copy of the passport (International students).

The catalog adds that COS may limit the number of students accepted from any one country (admissions).

Credit for coursework abroad

The catalog sets three steps for coursework from an institution outside the US that is not regionally accredited: choose an approved agency (AICE endorsed members, AERC, IERF, NACES members or WES), request a detailed equivalency report with an English syllabus for each course, upper or lower division and letter grades, and have the agency send it directly to COS or deliver it sealed.

If the foreign institution holds US regional accreditation, COS may evaluate official transcripts in English without an agency report.

Evaluations are at your expense, though the Financial Aid Office may reimburse the fee.

Course syllabi must be in English to fulfill prerequisites or requirements, and coursework from institutions without US accreditation cannot meet Cal-GETC or some ADT major requirements (Catalog: academic regulations, international coursework).

The agency sets its own translation rule; WES, for example, accepts translations from professional services.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For College of the Sequoias that means we translate your transcripts and syllabi; the equivalency report for credit is ordered by you from an approved agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
