Slovenian civil records
Civil records — rojstni list, poročni list, mrliški list — are issued by the administrative unit and carry the EMŠO, a thirteen-digit personal number whose opening digits are the date of birth. It is reproduced exactly as printed.
Slovenia has issued its own documents since 1991; anything older comes from Yugoslavia, and a person born elsewhere in the former federation usually has to obtain the record from that country today. We translate the whole set.
