The certificado de registro de vehículo

Venezuela issues a Certificado de Registro de Vehículo through the INTT, and it is a genuine title document naming the owner, the plate, the VIN and the engine number.

It is a single sheet, often old, and physical deterioration is common in these files. We transcribe what is legible and mark what is not rather than guessing.

Why the paperwork is often stale

Institutional disruption has meant long delays in issuing and updating vehicle titles, so a Venezuelan vehicle may have changed hands several times on notarised sale documents with the certificate never updated.

A file may therefore hold a title in one name and a chain of notarised sales to another. That is the normal situation and we translate the whole chain.

The notarised sale, and the reserva

A transfer is documented by a notarised or registered sale document and then processed at the INTT, and financing appears as a reserva de dominio.

A reserva blocks a clean transfer until it is released. We translate the endorsement and the release where the file holds one.

The cédula, and the plate formats

Owners are identified by cédula de identidad, and plates have changed format more than once, so an older certificate carries a plate that no longer matches the current series.

That is history rather than an error. See our Spanish page.

Ordering, and what the certification covers

Upload the document, choose certified translation at $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, and it comes back typically within 24 hours as a PDF formatted to mirror the original, with a signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead. Marginal annotations are translated in place, in the margin, and every seal, stamp and registry endorsement is translated with the text. See how we translate and certified versus standard.
