Velký and malý technický průkaz
The Czech Republic issues the osvědčení o registraci vozidla část II — the "big technical certificate", a booklet kept by the owner — and část I, the card carried in the vehicle.
The booklet records the owner, the operator, technical data and every registration change. The card is not the ownership document and clients send it as one.
Owner and operator, as separate fields
Czech registration distinguishes the vlastník (owner) from the provozovatel (operator), and on a leased or financed vehicle they differ.
A translation giving one name misstates who holds the vehicle. We give both fields as labelled.
The polopřevod problem
Until 2015 a transfer needed both parties to act and half-completed transfers (polopřevod) left vehicles in limbo, which is why the law now requires a single joint filing at the municipal office.
Older documents may show the artefacts of that system. We translate the entries as they stand rather than tidying them.
STK, emissions and the identifiers
The periodic STK inspection and emissions check are recorded, and an expired STK invalidates the registration for use.
