Nahuat, and a language being brought back
El Salvador's indigenous language Nahuat — Pipil — has very few remaining native speakers, and there is a sustained revitalisation effort with teaching programmes, a university-supported nest programme and teacher training.
A Nahuat certificate is therefore a revitalisation credential from a specific programme rather than a proficiency test against an established standard. We name the programme and describe what it attests.
No national Spanish examination
El Salvador does not operate a national Spanish proficiency examination. Spanish for foreign learners is certified by university language centres and by international examinations taken in the country.
We name the issuer and the programme rather than presenting a course certificate as a national qualification.
English, and the diaspora
With a very large US diaspora, English is widely present in El Salvador, and English proficiency certification recognised by the education ministry appears in professional and teaching files.
Many Salvadorans in the United States are also heritage Spanish speakers whose formal Spanish literacy may be limited, which is a different profile from a foreign learner's. We describe what the document attests.
The DUI, and the two surnames
Certificates identify the candidate by DUI number, nine digits, which does not change.
Salvadorans carry paternal then maternal surnames and we keep both, making the order explicit. See our Spanish page.
Ordering, and what the certification covers
Upload the document, choose certified translation at $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, and it comes back typically within 24 hours as a PDF formatted to mirror the original, with a signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead. Marginal annotations are translated in place, in the margin, and every seal, stamp and registry endorsement is translated with the text. See how we translate and certified versus standard.
