The notarial power, and the national register
A Romanian power (procură) for most significant acts is an authentic notarial act, and it is entered in the national notarial registers where revocations are also recorded.
A counterparty can check the register, and a revocation is effective from its entry. We reproduce the notarial act number and the date.

Romania has a very large diaspora in Italy, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States, and consulates grant powers as notarial acts for use in Romania.
A power granted before a Romanian consul is a Romanian notarial act. One signed before a foreign notary needs an apostille and a certified Romanian translation. We name the issuing office.
The special power, and property
Romanian law requires an express special power for disposals — selling property, accepting or renouncing an inheritance, giving a mortgage — and a general administration power does not confer them.
A great many Romanian powers in US files concern inheritance and the sale of family property, and the enumerated acts are what a notary examines. We reproduce them clause by clause.
The CNP, and the diacritics
Parties are identified by CNP, thirteen digits encoding sex, century and date of birth and the county of registration, and a company by its registry number.
