The rokhsa, which is both registration and title
Egypt issues a rokhsa (رخصة) — the vehicle licence from the Traffic Department — which names the owner, the plate, the chassis and engine numbers and the expiry, and serves as both registration and ownership document.
There is no separate title. The licence is renewed periodically and the document in hand is a snapshot, so its expiry is material and we translate it prominently.
Plate colours, which are legal classes
Egyptian plates are colour-coded by class — private, taxi, commercial, diplomatic, government — and the class governs how the vehicle may be used and what it costs to license.
The class is on the licence as a category rather than a description, and changing it is a formal process. We reproduce it as printed.
Customs, and the import restrictions
Egypt restricts imports of used cars sharply, so most private imports are new or brought in under a returning-resident or disability concession with a customs release that may carry a resale restriction for a period.
A licence with a customs annotation means the car cannot be freely sold yet. That annotation is easy to miss and we translate it.
The national number, and the numerals
Owners are identified by the fourteen-digit national number, and plates carry Arabic letters and numerals.
