Escritura pública, and Derechos Reales
A Bolivian power for significant acts is an escritura pública before a notario de fe pública, and powers touching property are registered at Derechos Reales.
The registry entry, with its matrícula number, is what a counterparty checks, and an unregistered power for a registrable act does not bind. We reproduce the matrícula.
Consular powers, and the diaspora
Bolivian consulates exercise notarial functions, and with large communities in Argentina, Spain, Brazil and the United States consular powers are the normal route for property and family matters at home.
A power signed before a US notary and apostilled must be protocolised in Bolivia. We name the issuing office and the endorsements the document carries.
The enumerated faculties
Bolivian powers enumerate faculties, and the power to dispose, mortgage or accept an inheritance must be expressly conferred. A general administration power does not reach them.

The carnet, and the indigenous languages
Parties are identified by cédula de identidad with the issuing department's abbreviation, which is part of the reference.
