The health booklet, and the health centre
Albanian childhood immunisation is recorded in a health booklet and administered at the local health centre, which holds the record. The programme is compulsory and coverage is recorded nationally.
A certificate can be obtained from the centre where the child is registered. Albania gives BCG at birth, which is not a US vaccine and leaves a scar an examiner will ask about.
The personal number, and the insurance fund
Albanian medical documents carry the personal identification number from the national civil status register, which does not change with a name, and identifiers from the compulsory health insurance fund.
