How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026
The Center for Educational Documentation must receive documents in the original language together with certified English translations, unless a document was officially issued in English; it does not say who must make the translation.
CED accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
CED also sells certified translations at $35 per page and, for Spanish, Portuguese and some French documents, an interpretation service that evaluates from the original without translating; eVerbary translates your records and does not order the evaluation.
CED at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
CED asks for documents in the original language along with certified English translations, without limiting who may make them (CED FAQ), so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets it. Policy checked on October 21, 2026.

CED requirements in detail
Translation
Certified English translations of documents not officially issued in English, received with the original-language documents (CED: pricing and FAQ).
Who may translate
Not specified: CED asks for a certified translation and names no required translator credential.
Self-translation
Not addressed on CED's pages.
Original or copy
Upload documents with the application, or have the institution send official documents directly to CED (CED: pricing and FAQ).
Report types
Each report lists "documents in the original language along with certified English translations" among its requirements, including CPA examination and licensure reports (CED: credential evaluations).
CED's own options
Certified English translation at $35 per page; an interpretation service for Spanish, Portuguese and select French documents, $25 for a general report and $50 for course by course, with no translation produced (CED: pricing and FAQ).
Notarization
Not mentioned in CED's requirements.
Interpretation or translation?
For Spanish, Portuguese and some French documents, CED offers an interpretation service: its evaluators read the original directly and no translation is made, for $25 on a general report or $50 on a course-by-course report (CED: pricing and FAQ). For other languages, a certified translation is the only route.
The interpretation produces no English document. If the university, employer or board that receives the CED report also wants the diploma or transcript in English, you will need a certified translation anyway, and it then serves both purposes.
Uploading versus official delivery
CED lets you upload documents while completing the application, or ask your institution to issue official documents directly to CED (CED: pricing and FAQ). Every report includes one official copy for a designated recipient and an unofficial copy for you.
If your school sends records directly, translate from a copy of the same documents you hold, so the translation matches what CED receives.
Need a certified translation for CED?

- Academic transcripts
- High school diplomas and examination results
- Foreign transcripts for CPA examination or licensure reports
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades, hours and credits exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA or equivalency.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload or print.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
- Notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) when the office asks for a notarized translation.
Submitting the translation to CED
Upload the certified translation with the original-language documents when you complete CED's online application (CED: pricing and FAQ).
eVerbary delivers the translation as a signed PDF, ready to upload.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, we do not order the evaluation for you, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For CED that means we translate your records; the evaluation, the interpretation service and the official copies of the report are between you and CED.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and submit it with the copy of the original wherever the office asks for it.
