How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026

ERES says documents not issued in English generally require a certified English translation, and that you may submit certified English translations with your original-language documents; if a translation is not certified or cannot be verified, ERES may review it first, for a $50 translation verification fee.

ERES accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. ERES also sells its own certified translations at $39 per page; eVerbary translates your records and does not order the evaluation.

Worth knowing about ERES

Uncertified or unverifiable outside translations may be reviewed for a fee.

Licensing evaluations

Nursing, CPA, bar, teaching and other board reports.

ERES requirements in detail

Translation

Documents not issued in English generally require a certified English translation (ERES: help center).

Who may translate

Not specified. You may submit certified English translations with the original-language documents (ERES: help center).

What "certified" means

A translation accompanied by a statement confirming its completeness and accuracy (ERES glossary).

Self-translation

Not addressed. An uncertified translation may be reviewed or verified by ERES before it is used.

Review fee

ERES may review outside translations; the translation verification fee is $50 (ERES: pricing and fees).

Original or copy

Official diplomas and final transcripts, with official translations if available; direct submission from the institution is recommended (ERES: document requirements, help center).

ERES's own option

Certified translation at $39 per page through its TransDesk upload (ERES: pricing and fees); ERES describes itself as an ATA corporate member (ERES: certified translation services).

Certified, or reviewed for a fee

ERES's help center gives two paths: submit a certified English translation with the original-language documents, or expect ERES to review or verify a translation that is not certified or cannot be verified (ERES: help center).

Its fee table puts that translation verification at $50 (ERES: pricing and fees).

ERES's own glossary defines a certified translation as one accompanied by a statement confirming its completeness and accuracy (ERES: glossary of terms). An eVerbary translation comes with a signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, which is that statement.

Licensing boards that name ERES

ERES offers separate evaluation types for professional licensing, including nursing, CPA, bar examination, teaching credential, acupuncture and cosmetology licenses (ERES: professional license evaluations).

The board may have its own translation rule on top of ERES's; check it before you order, so one translation serves both.

Where a board wants records sent from the school to ERES, translate from a copy you hold of the same records and send the translation through your ERES applicant portal as instructed.

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • Official diplomas, degree certificates or graduation certificates
  • Final transcripts and academic records
  • Enrollment verification letters, for incomplete programs
  • Nursing, teaching or professional licenses, for licensing reports

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades, hours and credits exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA or equivalency.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload or print.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
  • Notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) when the office asks for a notarized translation.

Submitting the translation to ERES

  • Create an ERES account, choose the evaluation type and follow the document instructions in your applicant portal; ERES recommends direct submission from the issuing institution whenever possible (ERES: help center).

  • Send the certified translation together with the original-language documents it belongs to. eVerbary delivers it as a signed PDF.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, we do not order the evaluation for you, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For ERES that means we translate your records; the evaluation, the request for records from your school and any ERES verification are between you, your school and ERES.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and submit it with the copy of the original wherever the office asks for it.
