Josef Silny & Associates requires accurate, professional, certified English translations of documents in another language, in addition to the original credentials, and accepts translations made elsewhere only under conditions: in the United States they must be done by translators certified by the American Translators Association (ATA), and abroad by accredited or officially certified professional translators.
Josef Silny accepts a translator individually certified by ATA, and eVerbary assigns one on request.
JS&A also sells its own certified and notarized translations; eVerbary translates your documents and does not order the evaluation.
Josef Silny at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Josef Silny accepts translations prepared elsewhere when they are properly certified and done by ATA certified translators (services page), so a translation by an ATA-certified translator, which eVerbary assigns on request, meets it. Policy checked on October 21, 2026.

Worth knowing about Josef Silny
ATA-certified in the US
Outside translations made in the US need an ATA-certified translator.
Translation supplements
It never replaces the original credentials.
May be rejected
JS&A reviews outside translations against its own standards.
Josef Silny requirements in detail
Translation
Required: accurate, professional, certified English translations of documents in a language other than English (Josef Silny & Associates: services and translations).
Who may translate (US)
Translators certified by ATA, with the translation properly certified (Josef Silny & Associates: services and translations).
Who may translate (abroad)
Accredited or officially certified professional translators (Josef Silny & Associates: services and translations).
Self-translation
Not accepted: an outside translation must come from a certified professional translator.
Original or copy
The translation supplements but does not replace the originals; JS&A requires official original credentials and does not accept photocopies, even notarized ones (Josef Silny & Associates: services and translations, FAQ).
How to submit
Email the application with payment to processing@jsilny.org or mail it; some programs require records sent directly by the institution (Josef Silny & Associates: services and translations).
JS&A's own option
A Translation Department (ATA corporate member) prices by language, length and complexity; its translations are certified and notarized at no extra cost (Josef Silny & Associates: services and translations).
Review
JS&A reserves the right to reject outside translations that do not meet its standards (Josef Silny & Associates: services and translations).
Where Josef Silny's pages differ
The services page sets the condition: translations prepared elsewhere must be done by ATA certified translators if made in the United States, and by accredited or officially certified professional translators if made abroad (Josef Silny & Associates: services and translations).
The FAQ is looser: it says most translations by professional translators are acceptable, subject to review (FAQ).
The services page is the stricter and more specific of the two, so we follow it: for Josef Silny we assign a translator individually certified by ATA. ATA certifies translators only for certain language pairs; for other languages, ask JS&A before ordering which translator it will accept.
Originals first, translation alongside
JS&A evaluates from official original credentials: degrees or diplomas and transcripts with courses, credits or hours and grades.
It does not accept photocopies, even notarized; the only copies it may accept are those certified, signed and sealed by the issuing institution (Josef Silny & Associates: FAQ).
Records faxed or emailed by applicants are not accepted for evaluation.
For nursing boards and some other programs, the official records, course descriptions and licenses must come directly from the issuing institution or council (Josef Silny & Associates: services and translations).
In that case translate from a copy you hold of the same documents and send the translation with your application.
Need a certified translation for Josef Silny?

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades, hours and credits exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA or equivalency.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload or print.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
- Notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) when the office asks for a notarized translation.
Submitting the translation to Josef Silny
Josef Silny wants the application, the documents and the translations together: email the application with payment to processing@jsilny.org or mail it to the address on the form (Josef Silny & Associates: services and translations). Translations supplement the original credentials, so include both.
Where the institution must send records directly, send the ATA-certified translation with your application and reference the documents the school is sending.
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Josef Silny, what it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, we do not order the evaluation for you, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Josef Silny that means we translate your records with an ATA-certified translator; the evaluation, the official records from your school and any board-specific forms are between you, your school and JS&A.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and submit it with the copy of the original wherever the office asks for it.
