University of Fort Lauderdale (UFTL) asks for official university or college transcripts with a certified translation, without saying who must translate, and exempts high school diplomas from translation unless they are in Hebrew, Arabic or an Asian language.
University of Fort Lauderdale accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
F-1 students with college work abroad also need a commercial course-by-course evaluation with GPA; that evaluation is something we do not provide.
UFTL at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
UFTL's international admission requirements ask for college transcripts "along with a certified translation" and do not restrict who translates (international admissions); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 28, 2026.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
- The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
- Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
- The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

Evaluation

Timing of evaluation
Before admission for bachelor's, master's and doctoral applicants; otherwise within 30 days of the first day of class, from a company UFTL recognizes (University of Fort Lauderdale: international admissions).
Minimum GPA
2.0 undergraduate, 2.5 graduate, 3.0 doctoral, or the equivalent (University of Fort Lauderdale: international admissions).
British system
Original GCE, CXC, BGCSE, WAEC, WASC or HKCE certificates with 4 academic passes (University of Fort Lauderdale: international admissions).
A language rule for high school diplomas
UFTL is unusual in naming languages.
Its international admissions page says every applicant needs the equivalent of a US high school diploma, but that high school diplomas do not have to be translated into English unless they are in Hebrew, Arabic or an Asian language.
A diploma in Spanish, Portuguese or French can go in as it is; one in Arabic, Chinese, Korean or Vietnamese needs a translation. UFTL names no translator type for these, so a certified translation is the safe choice.
For British-system education, UFTL asks instead for original GCE, CXC, BGCSE, WAEC, WASC or HKCE certificates with four academic passes in General Proficiency.
College transcripts: translation and commercial evaluation
University and college transcripts from abroad always need a certified translation, and the GPA must reach 2.0 for undergraduate, 2.5 for graduate or 3.0 for doctoral study (University of Fort Lauderdale: international admissions).
F-1 students who studied at a college outside the US also submit a commercial evaluation that is course by course, identifies upper-division courses and shows a GPA.
Degree seekers need it before admission; other students who completed college work abroad have 30 days from the first day of class, from an evaluation company UFTL recognizes.
UFTL does not publish its list of recognized companies, so confirm with the International Student Admission Office before ordering. Agencies set their own translation rules; WES, for example, wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator.

Uploading the translation to UFTL
Send the official transcripts with their certified translations to the International Student Admission Office, 4131 NW 16th Street, Lauderhill; completed applications are reviewed each Friday and decisions are mailed (University of Fort Lauderdale: international admissions).
The commercial evaluation goes to UFTL from the evaluation company you choose among those UFTL recognizes (University of Fort Lauderdale: international admissions).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For UFTL that means we translate your transcripts and, where needed, your diploma; the commercial course-by-course evaluation with GPA comes from an evaluation company UFTL recognizes.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
