Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno requires official high school transcripts showing your graduation date and asks you to include an official English translation, if applicable; it does not say who must translate.

Truckee Meadows Community College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

College transcripts are needed only for transfer credit, and TMCC points to The Evaluation Company for a discounted evaluation, which is something we do not produce.

TMCC at a glance

Sample translation: a Mexican high school certificate

This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Spanish sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice

  • CCT, CURP and the state abbreviation Jal. are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, so an evaluator does not have to look up a Mexican acronym.
  • Courtesy and degree titles (C., Mtra., Lic.) are kept as printed and explained once; names keep both surnames in place.
  • Grades stay on the 5-to-10 scale the certificate prints, with its minimum passing grade. Converting them is the evaluator's job.
  • The six semesters keep the certificate's two columns, and the seal, signatures and QR code are described in brackets where they appear.

High school transcripts and the translation

TMCC requires official high school transcripts that show your date of graduation.

You can apply with unofficial transcripts, but you must bring the official transcript, in a sealed school envelope with signatures, date and seals, when you report to campus, and you include an official English translation if the transcript is not in English (steps to enroll).

Translate the official document you will hand in, so the translation matches it.

eVerbary can mail the translation to you in a sealed, signed envelope: choose the hard copy at checkout with your address ($19.95 Priority or $37.95 Express in the US, $49.95 or $78.95 to other countries) and write in the order notes that it is for TMCC.

College credit and the TEC evaluation

College or university transcripts are not required for admission; they matter only if you ask for transfer credit for individual classes, and transcripts from outside the US "may be useful" (International students: steps to enroll).

TMCC notes that The Evaluation Company offers a discounted evaluation and sends the report directly to TMCC.

TEC asks that an outside translator be certified by ATA; if you use it, ask eVerbary for a translator individually certified by ATA.

Documents applicants usually translate

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to TMCC

  • Submit the transcript and its translation with your international application as its instructions say, and bring the official sealed transcript to campus (International students: steps to enroll).

If you need a translator certified by ATA

Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:

$34.95 per page

Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian

$44.95 per page

Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian

To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for TMCC, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).

We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.

For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For TMCC that means we translate your transcripts; a TEC evaluation for transfer credit is ordered by you.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does TMCC require a translation of my high school transcript?

Yes, an official English translation if it is not in English (International students: steps to enroll).

Can I apply with an unofficial transcript?

Yes, but you must bring the official transcript when you report to campus (International students: steps to enroll).

Do I need my college transcripts?

Only if you want transfer credit; they are not required for admission (International students: steps to enroll).

How much money do I need to show?

At least $26,300 available, in statements dated within six months (International students: steps to enroll).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
