How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens asks that official transcripts from schools whose language is not English be accompanied by a certified translation, and it does not say who must make it.
St. Thomas University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
Every foreign transcript, from high school or college, also needs an official evaluation from a NACES or AICE member (InCred for student-athletes, course-by-course for transfers), and that evaluation is something we do not provide.
St. Thomas at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
The St. Thomas undergraduate catalog says official transcripts from schools whose official language is not English must be accompanied by a certified translation, without restricting who makes it (2025-2026 undergraduate catalog); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. St. Thomas requirements in detail
Translation
Official transcripts from schools where the official language is not English must be accompanied by a certified translation (undergraduate catalog).
Who may translate
Not stated (Undergraduate catalog 2025-2026).
Evaluation
An official international credentials evaluation by a NACES or AICE member on all foreign transcripts; transfer students submit a course-by-course evaluation (Undergraduate catalog 2025-2026).
Student-athletes
Evaluations must be performed by InCred (Undergraduate catalog 2025-2026).
Unofficial first
Unofficial transcripts are accepted for application review; documents submitted become St. Thomas property and are not returned (Undergraduate catalog 2025-2026).
Deadlines
Rolling admission; priority deadlines May 1 for fall and December 1 for spring (Undergraduate catalog 2025-2026).
Graduate
The same NACES or AICE evaluation rule applies to all foreign transcripts, with InCred for athletes (graduate catalog).
Every foreign record is evaluated, high school included
St. Thomas defines international applicants as students who attended a high school or college outside the US, and asks each of them for an official international credentials evaluation by a company accredited by NACES or AICE, covering all foreign transcripts (undergraduate catalog).
So a first-year applicant with a secondary record from abroad needs an evaluation too, not only transfer students; transfers must ask for a course-by-course report.
Student-athletes have no choice of agency: their evaluations must come from InCred.
The translation rule sits in the transfer credit policy: transcripts from foreign colleges evaluated for credit must come with a NACES member's evaluation, and all official transcripts from schools where the official language is not English must be accompanied by a certified translation (Undergraduate catalog 2025-2026).
Order the translation first and send the same file to the agency and to St. Thomas, so both read the same document. Evaluation agencies set their own translation rules; see translation for credential evaluation.
Unofficial copies to start, and the I-20 after the deposit
Applications are reviewed once complete, and unofficial transcripts are accepted for that review, so you can upload a scan of your records and their translation while the evaluation is in progress (Undergraduate catalog 2025-2026).
The I-20 is issued only after the enrollment deposit, and needs a signed Statement of Financial Sponsorship, the passport photo page and a stamped bank affidavit dated within one year, showing at least a year's cost in liquid funds. If the bank letter is not in English, translate it with your records.

Uploading the translation to St. Thomas
Apply at apply.stu.edu or through the Common App and send records to the Office of Admissions (admissions@stu.edu, 16401 NW 37th Ave, Miami Gardens, FL 33054); the evaluation agency sends its report to St. Thomas (Undergraduate catalog 2025-2026).
eVerbary delivers a signed PDF; on request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For St. Thomas that means we translate your records; the NACES or AICE evaluation, or the InCred report for athletes, is ordered by you from the agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
