Requirements checked on October 28, 2026 from SEU's public pages (sources).
Saint Elizabeth University requires high school or college transcripts to be accompanied by a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member, commonly WES or IERF, and sends applicants to those agencies for information on transcript translation.
SEU's evaluation agencies, such as WES and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not produce.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
- The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
- Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
- The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

SEU requirements in detail
Translation
SEU states no rule of its own and points to naces.org, wes.org and ierf.org for transcript translation (International students).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency (see below).
Evaluation
High school or college transcripts must be accompanied by a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member (International students).
Agencies
Any NACES member; WES and IERF are named as commonly used (International students).
Financial documents
Affidavits signed by the sponsor before a notary public; bank statements in the sponsor's or student's name showing the account-opening date (required documents).
English
TOEFL or IELTS (school code 2090), or two years of English-medium instruction (required documents).
Change of status
Applicants in the US on another visa apply for F-1 through USCIS with Form I-539 (International students).
What WES and IERF ask for the translation
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, such as a certified translation agency, in the same order as the original; it does not accept translations by applicants and does not translate documents itself.
IERF asks for typed, line-by-line, word-for-word translations in the same format as the original, does not require notarized or sworn translations, and reserves the right to require a professional translation; its glossary calls one required. A certified translation from eVerbary meets both rules.
High school and college records alike
SEU applies the same rule whether you send a high school or a college transcript: each must come with a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member (International students).
Course-by-course reports list every subject and grade, so translate the full transcript for every year, not only the diploma.
Applicants already in the US on another visa follow the change-of-status route; some visas, such as H-4, allow study while the change is pending (International students).
Need a certified translation for SEU?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- High school transcripts and diploma
- College or university transcripts
- Bank statements and income documents for sponsors, if not in English
- Affidavit of free room and board, when a host provides housing
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to SEU
Send the translation to the NACES agency with your transcripts; submit the transcript and its evaluation to SEU with your application, and the I-20 documents to the Admissions Department (International students).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For SEU that means we translate your records; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES member such as WES or IERF.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does SEU require a certified translation?
SEU requires a NACES course-by-course evaluation and points to the agencies for translation (International students). WES wants a professional translator (WES).
Which agencies does SEU accept?
Any NACES member; WES and IERF are commonly used (International students).
Does my high school transcript need an evaluation?
Yes, high school or college transcripts both need one (International students).
Must the sponsor's affidavit be notarized?
Yes, signed in the presence of a notary public (Required documents).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
