Requirements checked on October 28, 2026 from Caldwell's public pages (sources).
Caldwell University publishes no translation rule for academic records: first-year applicants send final secondary transcripts evaluated by any NACES member, transfer applicants send foreign college transcripts with a WES course-by-course evaluation, and graduate applicants use WES or another NACES member.
Caldwell's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
Financial documents not in English need a notarized translation; the evaluations are something we do not produce.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
- The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
- Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
- The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

Caldwell requirements in detail
Translation (academic)
No rule of its own; records reach Caldwell through the evaluation (International application requirements and deadlines).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency (see below).
First-year
Final secondary transcripts evaluated by any NACES member (International application requirements and deadlines).
Transfer
Foreign college transcripts with a WES course-by-course evaluation; with fewer than 30 US credits, secondary transcripts evaluated by a NACES member too (International application requirements and deadlines).
Graduate
Foreign transcripts evaluated course by course by WES or another NACES member; graduate transfers use WES (International application requirements and deadlines).
Financial documents
Not in English: include a notarized translation into English; amounts in US dollars preferred (international FAQs).
Deadlines (F-1)
Complete application by June 1 for fall and December 1 for spring; not flexible (International application requirements and deadlines).
Which evaluation for which applicant
Caldwell's rules differ by applicant (International application requirements and deadlines). First-year students need their final secondary transcripts evaluated by any NACES member.
Undergraduate transfers need a WES course-by-course evaluation for every foreign college attended, plus the secondary evaluation if they have fewer than 30 US college credits.
Graduate applicants may use WES or another NACES member, while graduate transfer applicants are pointed to WES; graduate transfer credit is usually up to six credits completed within five years.
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not translate documents itself.
ECE accepts complete, literal translations, including your own, or translates internally for an $85 Translation Waiver. IERF asks for typed, line-by-line, word-for-word translations and may require a professional one. A certified translation from eVerbary meets all three rules.
Bank statements: a notarized translation
For the I-20, Caldwell asks for liquid assets covering the first year and support for four years; documents not written in English must include a notarized translation into English (International FAQs). eVerbary adds notarization for $34.90 per order.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Caldwell
The translation goes to WES or another NACES agency with your records, and the agency sends the evaluation to Caldwell; the complete application must arrive by June 1 or December 1 (International application requirements and deadlines).
Financial documents and their notarized translations go with the I-20 application (International FAQs).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Caldwell that means we translate your records and financial documents, with notarization if needed; the NACES or WES evaluation comes from the agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
