How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Pomona College's international applicant FAQ says that if your transcripts are not in English you need to provide official English translations, and Pomona does not say who must make them; applicants from three-year secondary systems also send their ninth-grade record.
Pomona College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
International financial aid applicants also submit signed income tax returns translated into English; Pomona asks for no credential evaluation, and we do not provide one.
Pomona at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Pomona's international FAQ asks for "official English translations" of transcripts not in English and names no translator (international applicant FAQ); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Pomona requirements in detail
Translation
Official English translations of transcripts not in English (International applicant FAQs).
Who may translate
Not stated.
Three-year systems
If secondary school is grades 10 to 12, send the 9th-grade transcript too; no need to recalculate your GPA (International applicant FAQs).
Evaluation
Not required; Pomona reads each record in its local context.
Financial aid
Signed income tax returns translated into English, with wage statements and schedules, through IDOC or Pomona's international aid application (International student financial aid checklist).
Application
Same forms and deadlines as all first-year applicants (Early Decision I or II, Regular Decision); full-time college students apply as transfers (International applicants).
What Pomona asks international applicants to translate
International applicants to Pomona use the same Common Application and deadlines as everyone else, without the international supplement.
The FAQ adds a few points: mail paper documents early, provide official English translations of transcripts not in English, and if your country's secondary school lasts three years (grades 10 to 12), include your 9th-grade transcript as well.
You do not need to recalculate your GPA; a certified translation keeps every grade and the grading scale exactly as on the original. For the school record, see high school diploma translation.
Pomona evaluates each applicant within their own local context rather than comparing records with US schools (International applicant FAQs), so a complete translation of the school's own grading legend matters more than any conversion.
Financial aid documents
Pomona is need-aware for international applicants but meets the full demonstrated need of every admitted international student, without loans (International applicants).
The international aid checklist asks for your parents' and your own signed income tax returns translated into English, including all wage statements and schedules for parents, student and businesses, or a statement of non-filing status.
You can apply through the CSS Profile and upload the translated documents to IDOC, or, if the Profile fee is a burden, through Pomona's own international financial aid application.

Uploading the translation to Pomona
Your school sends the transcript through the Common Application or by mail; send the official English translation with it, or upload it where the admission portal asks (International applicant FAQs).
Upload translated tax documents to IDOC with the CSS Profile, or to the Pomona admission portal with the international aid application (International student financial aid checklist).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
