  • Usually 24 h for 1–3 pages

  • See the price before you pay

How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Pitzer College publishes no translation rule of its own: international applicants who already have credits from a college or university outside the US apply as transfers and must provide a credentials evaluation report from AACRAO International Education Services, IERF or WES, evaluating the credit transferable to Pitzer.

Pitzer's evaluation agencies, such as WES and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

You translate first and send the translation to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not provide.

Pitzer requirements in detail

Translation

No rule of its own; the translation is what the evaluation agency needs before it can evaluate a record not in English.

Who may translate

Set by the agency. WES and IERF accept a professional translation.

Evaluation

Transfer applicants with credits from outside the US: a report from AACRAO IES, IERF or WES on credit transferable to Pitzer (International applicants).

First-year

Common Application, writing supplement, school report, mid-year report, one teacher recommendation and official transcripts; Pitzer publishes no evaluation rule for them (International applicants).

English

TOEFL 5.5 (105 before January 2026), IELTS 7.5 or Duolingo 135; slightly lower scores require two first-semester courses (International applicants).

Testing

SAT and ACT are not accepted; test-free through 2026-2027 (International applicants).

Who needs the evaluation at Pitzer

Pitzer's international applicants page draws the line clearly: if you already have credits from a higher education institution outside the US, you are a transfer applicant, and you must provide a report from a credentials evaluation service on the credit transferable to Pitzer.

It lists three organizations: AACRAO International Education Services, the International Education Research Foundation and World Education Services. First-year applicants follow the standard checklist with official transcripts.

Pitzer is test-free and sets high English minimums; applicants who meet everything except English may qualify for its International Scholars Program (International applicants). For a first-year school record, see high school diploma translation.

What each evaluation agency asks for the translation

WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, such as a certified translation agency, does not accept translations by applicants and does not translate itself.

IERF asks for typed, line-by-line, word-for-word translations in the same format as the original and reserves the right to require a professional translation. AACRAO IES sets its own rules.

Translate every page of the college transcript, including course titles and the grading scale, since the report decides which credits transfer.

Need a certified translation for Pitzer?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • College or university transcripts, for the evaluation
  • Secondary school transcripts and leaving certificate
  • Course descriptions, if the agency asks for them

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Pitzer

  • The translation goes to AACRAO IES, IERF or WES with your records; the agency sends its report to Pitzer, and your application goes through the Common Application (International applicants).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Pitzer that means we translate your records for the agency; the credit evaluation is ordered by you.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Pitzer require a credential evaluation?

For international transfer applicants, yes: a report from AACRAO IES, IERF or WES (International applicants).

Can I use an eVerbary translation for WES or IERF?

Yes. Both accept translations from professional services (WES, IERF).

I took a few college courses abroad. Am I a transfer?

Yes. Any credits from a higher education institution outside the US make you a transfer applicant (International applicants).

Does Pitzer accept SAT scores?

No. Pitzer is test-free through the 2026-2027 cycle (International applicants).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
