Piedmont University in Demorest, Georgia, asks international applicants for a course-by-course evaluation, including a GPA, of all secondary and post-secondary credits earned outside the US, and recommends WES, Josef Silny & Associates or any NACES member.
Piedmont's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency with your records; the evaluation comes from the agency, not from us.

Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
- Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
- Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
- Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.

Piedmont requirements in detail
Translation
Piedmont states no translation rule of its own; foreign credits reach it through the evaluation (International admissions). The agency needs the translation before it evaluates a document not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the agency: WES wants a professional translator; ECE accepts a literal translation; Josef Silny an ATA-certified one in the US.
Evaluation
Course-by-course, including a GPA calculation, of all secondary and post-secondary credits earned outside the US (International admissions).
Agencies
World Education Services, Josef Silny & Associates, or any current NACES member (International admissions).
Work in progress
If the secondary evaluation reflects credits still in progress, the final official transcript follows from the school, emailed to your advisor (International admissions).
Application
Piedmont's online application or the Common Application (International admissions).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES asks for an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept translations by applicants.
ECE, another NACES member, accepts complete, literal translations, including your own, or translates internally for an $85 waiver.
Josef Silny & Associates accepts outside translations made in the US only from ATA-certified translators; for Josef Silny, eVerbary can assign a translator individually certified by ATA on request through a free quote.
Course-by-course, even for high school
Piedmont asks for a course-by-course evaluation with GPA for both secondary and post-secondary credits (International admissions). Translate every subject and grade on each year's transcript and the grading scale.
If you apply before finishing school, the evaluation can reflect work in progress; the final official transcript is sent later by the school.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Piedmont
The translation goes to the evaluation agency with your records; the course-by-course evaluation with GPA goes to Piedmont Admissions (International admissions).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Piedmont that means we translate your records for the agency; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Piedmont need an evaluation of my high school record?
Yes, a course-by-course evaluation including GPA of all secondary credits earned outside the US (International admissions).
Which evaluation agencies does Piedmont recommend?
WES, Josef Silny & Associates, or any current NACES member (International admissions).
Can I use an eVerbary translation with WES?
Yes. WES accepts translations from a professional translation service (WES).
Can I apply before I finish secondary school?
Yes; send the final official transcript to your advisor once it is available (International admissions).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
