How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026

The University of North Georgia publishes no translation rule: international undergraduates send a NACES or AICE document-by-document evaluation of the high school transcript, without GPA, and a course-by-course evaluation of any college studies abroad, both sent by the agency.

UNG's evaluation agencies, such as ECE and IEE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary; The Evaluation Company asks for a translator certified by ATA, which eVerbary can assign on request.

You order the translation first, then the evaluation, which we do not provide.

UNG at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

UNG asks for an evaluation from a NACES or AICE member and lists discounts with IEE, TEC and ECE (international undergraduate admission), and ECE, one of those agencies, accepts a complete word-for-word translation, including one from a professional service (ECE); IEE accepts a certified translator (IEE). UNG requirements in detail

Translation

UNG states no translation rule; foreign records reach it through a NACES or AICE evaluation (Undergraduate admissions: international students). The agency sets the translation rule.

Who may translate

Set by the agency: ECE and IEE accept professional translations; TEC asks for an ATA-certified translator.

High school

A NACES or AICE document-by-document evaluation of the transcript or Certificate of Education; no GPA calculation required (Undergraduate admissions: international students).

College abroad

A course-by-course evaluation by an independent NACES or AICE member, sent by the agency (Undergraduate admissions: international students).

Discounts

IEE, The Evaluation Company and ECE (Undergraduate admissions: international students).

Education majors

Course-by-course evaluation from a GaPSC-approved NACES organization (Undergraduate admissions: international students).

Studied in English

Ask the agency to state "Language of Instruction is English" on the evaluation (Undergraduate admissions: international students).

What the discounted agencies ask for the translation

ECE accepts complete, word-for-word translations in the same format as the original, including your own, and sells an $85 waiver under which it translates for its report only.

IEE wants a certified translator, not the applicant or a notary public. The Evaluation Company says an outside translator must be certified by the American Translators Association; eVerbary can assign one on request (see below).

Details UNG asks agencies to include

For high school, UNG wants a document-by-document report and says a GPA calculation is not required; the report goes straight from the agency to the Admissions Office (Undergraduate admissions: international students).

If you were taught in English abroad, ask the agency to note that the language of instruction was English. Translate the full high school diploma and grades before you open the agency file.

College work abroad needs a course-by-course report, and UNG decides transfer credit course by course. If you plan to major in Education, use one of the NACES organizations on the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) list (Undergraduate admissions: international students).

Need a certified translation for UNG?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school transcript or Certificate of Education
  • High school diploma
  • College or university transcripts, for the course-by-course evaluation
  • Degree certificates

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to UNG

  • The translation goes to the NACES or AICE agency with your records; the agency sends the evaluation directly to UNG's Undergraduate Admissions Office (Undergraduate admissions: international students).

  • On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.

If you need a translator certified by ATA

Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:

$34.95 per page

Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian

$44.95 per page

Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian

To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for UNG, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).

We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.

For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For UNG that means we translate your records; the NACES or AICE evaluation is ordered by you from the agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Which evaluation does UNG need for my high school diploma?

A NACES or AICE document-by-document evaluation, without GPA (Undergraduate admissions: international students).

Does UNG recommend an evaluation company?

Any NACES or AICE member; IEE, TEC and ECE offer a discount (Undergraduate admissions: international students).

I want to study Education. Is any agency fine?

No. Use a GaPSC-approved NACES organization for the course-by-course evaluation (Undergraduate admissions: international students).

Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for UNG?

Yes, on request, for example if you use The Evaluation Company. Ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for an evaluation for the University of North Georgia and needs a translator individually certified by ATA. ATA certifies Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) and Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page) into English; no other languages.

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
